Reno Aero Arena

The largest aero arena in North America, this Reno attraction brings in aircraft enthusiasts across the world. Open all year, the arena features both racing and dueling events. Featured aircraft include microplanes, airplanes, helicopters, and grasshoppers. Built in the 20th century and updated in the early 2030's, this arena is part of the Hot Asphalt Circuit.

Arena Features:
The arena floor is covered in sand and brush, making it an off-road surface for ground vehicles and for emergency landing purposes. The towers located in the corners are permanent, stand 150 feet high and have 100 DP. Each of these towers have four universal turrets equipped with pairs of linked VMGs. Television cameras are also mounted in these towers. The inner towers are temporary, stand 150 feet high and have 40 DP. Unarmed, these inner towers can be lowered and moved out the arena in 15 minutes. Grandstand along the perimeter of the arena can hold up to 100,000 people.

Special Events:
Reenactments - Famous air battles and air/ground conflicts are reenacted. Seating for the Battle of Britain event is sold out two years in advance, so keep that in mind when ordering tickets.

Slalom - Air racers must go around the outside of the corner towers and the inside of the inner towers. Prestige is doubled.

National Air Races - The first two weeks in September Reno hosts the famous national air races. Classes are separated into microplanes and airplanes, gas and electric. Prestige is quadruple.
