A Year on the Web
by Norman McMullen and Donald Jacques

First, a word from Norman McMullen, NOVA president and paramount leader:

Its hard to believe that NOVA's web site is one year old. To say the least a lot has happened in that time, both here on the site and everywhere else.

Old friends have found use during web searches or on the various other Car Wars sites that had our link. They were glad that we're still around, shooting and screaming. NOVA will still be around next year and hopefully for many more. Of all the games I've played over years Car Wars remains at the top. Of the other games I've tried there has been so many that I can't count them all, even if I wanted to.

I've enjoyed Car Wars over the years, even though I'm in virtual gaming retirement. Its become so that I can run a World Championship without breaking a sweat. Of course, there will always be  the rule questions, design checks, and player handling. As a human being I'm as fallible as the next guy, so all I can say is that I'll be better next time.

Oops! Wandered off the path back there for a minute. I've enjoyed working with Don on the web page. All the little details to decide on, entering old documents, and posting new material. All to make this a site to be visited again and again. Hope that you'll be around for our second year in the Web.

Drive Offensively!

Now, a word from Donald Jacques, NOVA Web page master and core NOVA player:

As the maintainer of the web site I was my privilege to enter all of the old NOVA articles, vehicle designs, and especially the Nightmessengers. Seeing the past 15 years of NOVA's history going on-line will insure our club some sort of immortality.

Some people have asked why I don't have a visit counter on the site. Well, all I can say is that I know who my audience is. Seeing that I got responses from all over the world I'd say the grapevine is working just fine.

As for programs used my kit bag includes Navigator Gold, Navigator Composer, Keyview 5.1, Wordperfect 5.1, 6.1, and 7, and Micrografx Windows Draw and its related programs. It looks like I'll need more server space by this time next year. Who knows? Maybe I'll get a domain name next year, all depending on finances.

Until then happy browsing!
Donald Jacques, NOVA Web Master
