VANS

Of all the various types of cars, vans are perhaps the easiest type to customize. Their roomy interior allows for bulky weapons or cargo to be carried. On the down side, vans seldom have the heavy armor which would allow them to survive in the arena. Accordingly, most vans see use as cargo carriers or delivery vehicles.

TROOPER
Amex Combat Autoworks originaly introduced the Trooper for use as a troop transport by police departments and private security companies. It has the ability to carry a five-man fire team plus their equipment.

Trooper: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, super power plant, 6 solid tires, driver & gunner, 2 universally-turreted MGs, 2 linked MRs (F), 2 linked MRs (B), targeting computer, searchlight (F), fire extinguisher, Armor: F20, B20, R20, L20, T20, U15. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 102.5 mph (95 mph fully-loaded), 6,530 lbs, $21,810.
Cargo Capacity: 12 spaces, 670 lbs.

2044 Trooper: Remove MGs and move searchlight to turret. Add HMG to turret. Downgrade targeting computer to Swc. Upgrade power plant to sports. Cargo capacity: 13 spaces, 820 lbs. Top Speed: 115 mph (105 mph fully-loaded), 6,380 lbs, $23,760.

2045 Trooper: As 2044 version, but searchlight is back in front. Add 10 pts CA on HMG. Cargo capacity: 12 spaces, 800 lbs. 6,400 lbs, $23,810.

LIVE ANYTIME
This van is in widespread use by numerous TV stations throughout the Mid-west. Since it is not intended to be a front-line combat vehicle, the armor is light.

Live Anytime: Van, x-hvy chassis, O/R suspension, super power plant, 6 solid tires, driver & gunner, RR (F), MD (B), Swc, improved fire extinguisher, portable TV station, 2 10-pt wheel hubs F, 2 10-pt wheelguards B, FP Armor: F22, B25, R21, L21, T11, U10. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 95 mph, 7,145 lbs, $33,200.

ESCORTER
The Escorter can stand on its own as a light-duty cargo hauler. It can also be used to provide dropped-weapon support for small convoys. A pair of turreted machineguns provides this vehicle with light, reliable return firepower.

Escorter: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, super power plant, 6 PR tires, driver & gunner, 2 turreted MGs, 2 linked SDs w/ 1 extra magazine each (1 R, 1 L), 2 linked FOJs (1 R, 1 L), MD w/ 1 extra magazine B, Swc, master link between MGs, SDs, FOJs & MD, Armor: F15, B37, R20, L20, T22, U13. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 95 mph, 6,933 lbs, $23,010.
Cargo Capacity: 6 spaces, 267 lbs.

Option: Remove MGs and downgrade turret to 1-space. Add HMG to turret. Cargo Capacity: 7 spaces, 367 lbs, 6,833 lbs, $21,960.

BATTLER
The Battler is a straightforward war machine from Amex Combat Autoworks. It has a front-mounted autocannon, as well as three machineguns in a turret. Unfortunately, the Battler has light armor. One good shot will take it out. However, this vehicle's firepower is such that, if that first shot is missed, there won't be an opportunity for a second.

Battler: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, super power plant, 6 PR radial tires, driver & gunner, 3 MGs in universal turret, AC (F), 2 Swc, fire extinguisher, Armor: F23, B22, R22, L22, T23, U15. Acceleration: 5, HC: 3, Top Speed: 95 mph, 7,188 lbs, $29,910.

SKIDS
The Skids is named for the way it can send attackers careening off the road with its heavy-duty ice-dropper. It is a popular passenger transport in areas where the law prohibits dropped weapons that damage the road surface. The Skids has an accurate weapon, and better armor than most van designs. Both of these factors contribute to its endurance in a combat situation.

Skids: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, super power plant, 6 solid tires, driver & gunner, 2 passengers, TwL (F), HDID (B), Swc, fire extinguisher, HD brakes, anti-lock braking system, Armor: F39, B30, R23, L23, T10, U12. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 95 mph, 7,168 lbs, $28,010.

MOGUL
The Mogul is another one of Amex's battle vans. Its fearsome weapons array makes up for the fact that the armor is rather light.

Mogul: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, super power plant, 6 solid tires, driver & gunner, 3 MGs linked F, 3 MFRPs (1 R, 1 L, 1 F), RR (B), MD (B), targeting computer, weapon link (RR/MD), fire extinguisher, Armor: F25, B20, R20, L20, T10, U15. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 95 mph, 7,140 lbs, $22,900.

HAVOC
If chaos in the arena is the game, the Havoc can play very well. The accuracy provided by a cyberlink enables its laser-guided rockets to reach out and smash targets before they can hit back. Unfortunately, the Havoc's laser-guided ordnance is vulnerable to smoke-based weaponry.

Havoc: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, super power plant, 6 solid tires, driver & gunner, 2 laser-guided MRs in universal turret, 2 3-space rocket magazines w/ laser-guided MRs, 2 MGs linked F, SS w/ extra magazine B, cyberlink (to turret), Swc (front MGs), IrTl w/ Lgl (in turret), fire extinguisher, Armor: F25, B20, R20, L20, T29, U15. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 95 mph, 7,186 lbs, $41,990.

SUPER HAVOC
The Super Havoc trades most of its secondary weaponry for a larger turret and more rockets. The top armor has been increased, allowing the turret to survive longer in battle.

Super Havoc: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, super power plant, 6 solid tires, driver & gunner, 3 laser-guided MRs in universal turret, 3 extra rocket magazines w/ laser-guided MRs (2 3-space & 1 2-space), MG (F), cyberlink (to turret), Swc (MG), IrTl w/ Lgl (in turret), fire extinguisher, Armor: F25, B20, R20, L20, T33, U15. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 95 mph, 7,185 lbs, $42,130.

DUELLIST AIR DEFENSE
The Duellist Air Defense is designed to attack aircraft and to defend against them. The radar jammer and hot-loaded smokescreen were included to confound attacks from radar- or laser-guided weaponry.

Duellist Air Defense: Streamlined van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, sport power plant w/ upgrades, 6 radial solid tires, driver & gunner, VFRP w/ IrTl & Lgl in universal turret, 1 extra magazine (all rockets are laser-guided), SS w/ hot smoke U, HrSwc, radar detector linked to radar jammer, 9 laser-reactive webs (F, B, R, L, T, all 4 wheelguards) linked to SS, tinted/no-paint windows, 10 pts FPCA on driver, 10 pts FPCA on gunner, 10 pts FPCA on power plant, 4 5-pt wheelguards, Sloped Armor: F20, B20, R20, L20, T52, U10. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 127.5 mph, 7,198 lbs, $52,836.

CUP
The Cup is another light-duty cargo hauler from Amex Combat Autoworks. It has enough dropped weaponry to make large stretches of highway virtually unpassable.

Cup: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, super power plant, 6 solid tires, driver & 2 gunners (1 in cupola), 2 MGs linked F, 1 MG in universal cupola, 2 linked OJs (1 R, 1 L), HDSS (B), Swc, weapon link (OJs/HDSS), fire extinguisher, Armor: F21, B20, R20, L20, T19, U10. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 95 mph, 7,090 lbs, $24,650.
Cargo Capacity: 8 spaces, 110 lbs.

METRO AREA TRANSPORT
This van is often seen on short-ranger passenger runs. The Metro's weaponry is very light for a vehicle of this size, so it is almost never encountered in unpatrolled areas.

Metro Area Transport: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, super power plant, 6 PR radial tires, driver & gunner, 5 passengers, turreted GL w/ extra magazine, 3 linked SSs (1 R, 1 L, 1 B), Swc, fire extinguisher, 4 10-pt wheelguards, Armor: F20, B20, R20, L20, T20, U10. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 97.5 mph (95 mph fully loaded), 7,080 lbs, $18,650.
Cargo Capacity: 8 spaces, 120 lbs.

VICTOR
As far as vans go, the Victor is better-armored than most. The turreted VMG is intended to discourage attackers by slicing off their tires.

Victor: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, super power plant, 6 solid tires, driver & gunner, turreted VMG, Swc, fire extinguisher, Armor: F35, B30, R25, L25, T35, U20. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 97.5 mph (95 mph fully loaded), 7,030 lbs, $19,600.
Cargo Capacity: 17 spaces, 170 lbs.

CROSSWAY
The Jontue Motors Crossway is an inexpensive passenger transport used by both public transit companies and police departments (as a prisoner transport). Since this vehicle's weaponry is even lighter than on the Metro Area Transport, it is never seen outside controlled areas without some kind of escort.

Crossway: Van, hvy chassis, hvy suspension, large power plant w/ SCs, 4 PR tires, driver, 9 passengers, turreted FG, Sloped Armor: F20, B20, R20, L20, T20, U15. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 90 mph, 6,510 lbs, $12,495.
Cargo Capacity: 9 spaces, 90 lbs.

Paddywagon option: Add 10 pts FPCA on driver, add tear gas discharger in passenger compartment. Cargo capacity: 8 spaces, 45 lbs, 6,555 lbs, $12,670.

VACATIONER
The Lymestwold Vacationer is a personal vehicle intended for recreational (non-duelling) driving. This vehicle's weaponry is adequate for its intended purpose.

Vacationer: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, sport power plant, 6 PR tires, driver & gunner, 2 passengers, turreted MG, 2 MGs (1 F, 1 B), SD (B), 2 Swc, extra driver controls (gunner), fire extinguisher, vehicular computer, passenger accomodations (for two), galley, Armor: F20, B20, R20, L20, T25, U20. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 107.5 mph (105 mph fully loaded), 7,025 lbs, $29,800.
Cargo Capacity: 7 spaces, 175 lbs.

WAR LORD
The War Lord is DKI/New Omaha's first "battle van" design. For a van, the War Lord is decently-armored. It also has a great deal of firepower. Close combat with this vehicle is not recommended.

War Lord: Van w/ CA frame, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, blueprinted 250 CI gas engine w/ tubular headers, VP turbocharger & 15-gallon duelling tank, 6 SBPR radial tires, driver, turreted AC w/ 1 extra magazine, 2 VFRPs (1 R, 1 L), 2 FOJs (1 R, 1 L) linked to VFRPs, SD w/ 1 extra magazine B (all spikes are explosive), hi-res computer, radar, ATAD central logic unit, 2 ATAD sensor packages (VFRPs), improved fire extinguisher, tinted/no-paint windows, 2 10-pt wheel hubs F, 2 10-pt wheelguards B, Armor: F30, B30, R25, L25, T25, U10. Acceleration: 15, HC: 3, Top Speed: 92.5 mph, Base MPG: 28, 7,200 lbs, $72,825.

RAIDER
Despite the Raider's wide array of weaponry, its armor (which is light compared to the average duelling vehicle) means that it is better suited to making hit-and-run attacks.

Raider: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, sport power plant w/ upgrades, 6 PR radial tires, driver & gunner, AC (F), 2 turreted MGs, 2 linked FOJs (1 R, 1 L), SD w/ 1 extra magazine B (all spikes are explosive) linked to FOJs, 2 Swc, 10 pts CA on driver, 10 pts CA on gunner, 2 5-pt wheel hubs F, 2 5-pt wheelguards B, Armor: F30, B25, R25, L25, T19, U10. Acceleration: 5, HC: 3, Top Speed: 117.5 mph, 7,196 lbs, $37,470.

GRAND SLAM SERIES
Over the years, the original Grand Slam has become renowned for its accurate, deadly firepower. Since 2039, there have been a number of upgrades which have only increased the Grand Slam's usefulness. Whether on the road or in the arena, opposing duellists should think twice before engaging these vehicles.

GRAND SLAM II

Among the vehicles in the Grand Slam series, this design stands out. It is one of the best-protected vans in current production (comparable to many duelling cars). It also has triple the firepower of most other Grand Slam designs. Do not engage this vehicle under any circumstances.

Grand Slam II: Van w/ CA frame, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, sport power plant, 6 PR tires, driver, 3 laser-guided VFRPs w/ AP rockets linked F, IrTl w/ Lgl (F), 3 linked FOJs (1 R, 1 L, 1 B), HrSwc, 2 5-pt wheel hubs F, 2 5-pt wheelguards B, Armor: F70, B45, R40, L40, T15, U11. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 105 mph, 7,189 lbs, $56,480.

GRAND SLAM III
The Grand Slam III uses a turreted ML to guide its rockets. This also gives it the advantage of being better able to handle a protracted firefight.

Grand Slam III: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, sport power plant, 6 PR tires, driver, 10 laser-guided AP heavy rockets linked F, turreted ML w/ Lgl, HDFOJ (B), Swc, 2 5-pt wheel hubs F, 2 5-pt wheelguards B, Armor: F30, B30, R25, L25, T20, U11. Acceleration: 5, HC: 2, Top Speed: 105 mph, 7,194 lbs, $29,080.

GRAND SLAM 3.5
The Grand Slam 3.5 is a design which is especially produced for use by police departments and legally-licensed private security companies. It has the same overall firepower as the Grand Slam II, but is better-able to direct it (the rockets are fired by use of a turret). Note that the price of this vehicle is the one which is charged to authorized purchasers. The black-market price of the Grand Slam 3.5 is substantially higher.

Grand Slam 3.5: Van w/ CA frame, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, sport power plant w/ upgrades, 6 PR radial tires, driver, 2 laser-guided super rockets w/ IrTl & Lgl in universal turret, 2 3-space rocket magazines & 2 2-space rocket magazines (loaded with laser-guided SRs), HrSwc, radar, IR sighting system, HD brakes, anti-lock braking system, overdrive, tinted/no-paint windows, 10 pts CA on driver, 10 pts CA on power plant, 2 5-pt wheel hubs F, 2 5-pt wheelguards B, Armor: F35, B30, R25, L25, T25, U13. Acceleration: 5 (2.5 w/ OD), HC: 3, Top Speed: 117.5 mph (137.5 mph w/ OD), 7,192 lbs, $61,790.

2046 GRAND SLAM
DKI/New Omaha is producing this updated design under license from Grenadier Motors. It has heavier armor, better handling and higher speed than the original. The weaponry is more accurate and the tires have better protection. The best tactics to use against the Grand Slam are to baffle the laser with hot smoke and to try for flank shots.

2046 Grand Slam: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, sport power plant, 6 PR radial tires, driver, 10 laser-guided AP heavy rockets linked F, IrTl w/ Lgl (F), 3 linked FOJs (1 R, 1 L, 1 B), Swc, 2 10-pt wheel hubs F, 2 10-pt wheelguards B, Armor: F40, B30, R35, L35, T10, U10. Acceleration: 5, HC: 3, Top Speed: 105 mph, 7,200 lbs, $29,775.

MISSILE COMMAND
The Radius Motors Missile Command is this company's take on the Grand Slam series. Instead of heavy rockets, it is armed with various kinds of missiles. The MC has above-average armor for a van, and the range of its missiles puts most other ground vehicles at a severe disadvantage. Despite the impressive firepower, this vehicle can easily be defeated by using a radar jammer.

Missile Command: Van, x-hvy chassis, hvy suspension, sport power plant, 6 PR radial tires, driver, 10 RGMs linked F, 3 linked SDs w/ explosive spikes (1 R, 1 L, 1 B), HrSwc, Sloped Armor: F45, B35, R40, L40, T10, U10. Acceleration: 5, HC: 3, Top Speed: 105 mph, 7,195 lbs, $53,290.
