Car Trailers |
A good trailer is what makes a big rig the most powerful vehicle on the road today. The awesome weight capacity of a trailer gives it the capability to carry immense amounts of armor and weaponry. Nearly all members of the Brotherhood of Truckers are fatally touchy about people who shoot at them, so expect massive retaliation when engaging a rig in combat. For completeness, car trailers are also listed here.
ARMAGEDDON
This trailer got its name because it is a relentless, almost-unstoppable
force. The Armageddon is designed for convoy escort duty and hunter-killer
missions. Its awesome firepower and heavy armor makes it invulnerable to
anything less than a tank.

SST
The Safe/Secure Transport concept was introduced by the U.S government
in the late 20th century. These rigs were used to transport anything from
nuclear weapons to large currency shipments. This particular model was
introduced by DKI in 2042. It is intended to be the last word in cargo
haulers. Since its introduction, no SST has ever been lost in road combat.
One of this trailer's unique features is an AA system that makes it invulnerable
to missile attack.

LOAD-ALL
The Load-All is a common sight where low-value cargo (timbers, steel
beams, etc) is the norm. In more dangerous areas, this trailer is sometimes
employed to carry 1-2 anti-aircraft mounts. In this configuration, the
Load-All has the firepower to instantly destroy almost any aircraft.

STREAM
The Radius Motors Stream is the first streamlined trailer to go into general production. It is sold primarily for use with the Slip tractor (also from Radius Motors). Don't be fooled by bthe Stream's windcheating profile. This trailer has heavy armor and plenty of firepower. The turrets aren't as vulnerable as they could be because they are as heavily armored as the sides of the trailer.

AFFLICTION
The Affliction (from Amex Combat Autoworks) has a number of distinctions.
First, it is one of the most heavily-armored trailers ever built. Secondly,
it is the most expensive trailer ever designed. The Affliction's most notable
characteristic is its awesome firepower. A grand total of 34 (!!) linked
gauss guns makes attacking this trailer from any side except the back and
the top sheer suicide.

FREEWAY BRICKYARD
The Freeway Brickyard is a common sight at construction sites all across
North America. Even though this trailer isn't designed for combat, potential
challengers should be aware of the fact that truckers who pull Freeway
Brickyard trailers often dump their entire payload (scrap metal, gravel,
etc) in order to discourage attackers. This has the effect of creating
an instant wall across the highway that is more than 10' high.

2039 BASHER
Magnum Motors has had this trailer on the market for several years.
It is an economical blend of defensive ability and offensive firepower.
Because its wide selection of dropped weapons, the 2039 Basher is often
used as a "tail-end charlie" trailer for cross-country convoys.

GOLIATH XR
The Goliath XR is DKI/New Omaha's answer to the Affliction (from Amex Combat Autoworks). Although (on an overall basis) the Goliath XR is less heavily-armed than the Affliction, it is more of a threat because its individual weapons are much more powerful. As with the Armageddon convoy-escort trailer, the GXR's extremely heavy armor makes it invulnerable to anything less than a tank gun. This trailer has been nicknamed the Black-Light Special because of the tendency for its targets to emit UV radiation before being vaporized.

SUNSPOT
The Sunspot is a new Q-trailer design from DKI/New Omaha. The interior
capacity of this trailer is used to carry a combination of flaming-oil
jets and flame-cloud ejectors that can lay down a trail of fiery death
up to 1,500' long. As a last resort, a driver can detach this trailer and
cause it to crash into a barricade. This will set off the 300-lb charge
of plastic explosive carried in the cargo safes.

TRANSIT
This trailer is the other half of the Transit rig. It can haul any
single duelling car of up to luxury size. The Transit trailer also carries
mechanics (who double as gunners) for repairing the vehicle being transported.

CHEAP HAUL
The Cheap Haul is designed to give small vehicles the capacity to transport
passengers as well as small amounts of cargo. The passenger version has
thin armor, so it is almost never encountered in a combat situation. The
rocket version has more armor and carries 3 linked HRs, a sure surpise
for anyone attacking this trailer.

SMOKIN' JOE
This trailer is intended to allow a duellist to obscure large stretches
of road or arena without having to devote his vehicle's interior space
to dropped-gas weapons. One tactic that has been used with the Smokin'
Joe consists of laying all the smoke, then dropping it inside the smoke
so that it becomes an obstacle.

This trailer is designed for use with the G-4 trike. It protects that

The use of a Boom Box SAM enables a driver to defend himself to the

2044 BUNKER
In 2044, Crane Industries released an updated version of its workhorse
cargo trailer design. It trades the linked minedroppers for a pair of spikedroppers
loaded with explosive spikes. The armor is heavy for a trailer of this
size.

Radius Motors had economy in mind when they looked towards filling
the large flatbed trailer market. Accordingly, each of the following trailer
designs was outfitted with a number of junkdroppers. These inexpensive
devices have the advantage of an almost-unlimited ammo supply (because
the driver can re-fill them with just about anything he picks up off the
road surface). Never get behind one of these trailers. Your tires will
regret it.

TURNPIKE
The Turnpike is a trailer which combines a moderate cargo capacity
with respectable firepower and armor. The Turnpike's dropped weapons will
keep those annoying tailgaters at arm's length. When attacking this trailer,
try for shots against the sdie armor or the hitch.

BROADSWORD
The well-armored Broadsword is an offensively-armed version of the
"tail-end charlie" concept. By itself, the Broadword's weaponry is such
that it can command large stretches of highway. The combination of this
trailer and a decent duelling vehicle is almost unapproachable. Unfortunately,
the Broadsword has relatively light front armor. In combat, attacks tend
to concentrate against the front armor or the hitch.

MINEFIELD
The Minefield is a heavily-armored trailer that truly lives up to its
name. It carries one of the largest amounts of dropped-weapon ammunition
to be found on any vehicle. The nightmarish combination of proximity-fuzed
mines, explosive spikes, ice and oil will give opposing drivers screaming
fits as their vehicles go spinning out of control (minus their tires or
large portions thereof).

CAMEL'S TAIL
The Camel's Tail is a specially-designed trailer for use with the current
Camel Buses. It is used to protect the Camel's vulnerable rear and to haul
additional cargo. The combination of a Camel-series bus and a Camel's Tail
trailer makes for 70 feet of bus cruising the highways. When engaging this
trailer, never attack from the rear. The sides are the best target.
