TOWED GUNS & ROCKET LAUNCHERS

The concept of towed artillery dates back to classical times, when the ancient Romans had wheeled catapaults and ballistas which accompanied the legions on campaign. In present-day 2046, towed guns and rocket launchers have assumed new importance on the battlefield, especially since several of each can be purchased for the price of one light tank.

P-LAW
The P-LAW (Precision Light Anti-tank Weapon) is a wheeled recoilless rifle which can be towed behind vehicles as small as compact cars. It is designed to give small units a significant anti-vehicular/anti-tank capability. It is inexpensive (costing less than many duelling cars) and highly accurate. In numbers, a P-LAW can seriously threaten even the most heavily-armored AFV.

P-LAW: 4-space field carriage, 2 PROR cycle tires, long-barreled BC w/ rotary magazine (5 shots HESH/5 shots HEAT), HrSwc, radar rangefinder, HD shocks, 2 10-pt cycle wheel hubs, 20-pt artillery gunshield. 1,165 lbs, $20,030.

FLAK-20
The FLAK-20 is named after a series of anti-aircraft guns (Flugabwehrkanone) used by the German Army in World War II. The FLAK-20 is designed to shoot down helicopters and low-flying aircraft at significant distances. It is more accurate than remote-controlled guns because the gunner sits inside the mount (like in a cupola).

FLAK-20: 6-space field carriage, 4 PROR tires, 6-space AA mount w/ long-barreled AC (flash-suppressed), 1 extra magazine, HrSwc, AA radar, gunner, HD shocks, 4 10-pt wheel hubs, 20-pt gunshield. 1,700 lbs, $26,610.

NEBELWERFER
This weapon is a modern interpretation of the multiple rocket launcher used by the German Army in WW II. It is a simple, inexpensive design with an incredible amount of firepower. A single Nebelwerfer can easily devastate an area the size of several city blocks. The rockets can easily be modified for laser guidance, making this weapon even more fearsome.

Nebelwerfer: 16-space field carriage (360-degree mounting), 4 PROR tires, 16 7" artillery rockets, HD shocks, 4 10-pt wheel hubs, 20-pt artillery gunshield. 10,020 lbs, $39,260.

BULLDOG
The Bulldog artillery piece was designed by the engineers in the Military Weapons Division of DKI/New Omaha to give fire support to units all the way down to squad level. Its small size and light weight (when compared to other artillery pieces) make it the perfect weapon for use when fighting in confined situations (urban warfare, mountain fighting, etc).

Bulldog: 4-space field carriage, 2 PROR cycle tires, long-barreled 50-mm gun w/ autoloader, 1 magazine w/ 10 shots HE, HD shocks, 2 10-pt cycle wheel hubs, 20-pt artillery gunshield. 1,545 lbs, $6,230.

LONG TOM
The Long Tom is a heavy, multi-purpose cannon based on the standard 105-mm TG. It is equally adept at fire-support missions and tank-killing. It is much more accurate than an artillery piece of equivalent bore, and therefore more dangerous.

Long Tom: 14-space field carriage (360-degree mounting), 4 PROR tires, long-barreled 105-mm TG w/ flash suppressor & APFSDS ammo, HrSwc, radar rangefinder, HD shocks, 4 10-pt wheel hubs, 20-pt artillery gunshield. 4,765 lbs, $102,660.

SKYSWEEPER
The Skysweeper Anti-Aircraft System comprises a pair of 40-mm autocannons with a sophisticated fire-control system. It has an effective range of more than 3,000 yards, and so is as much of a threat to aircraft as some missiles.

Skysweeper: 16-space field carriage, 4 PROR tires, 16-space AA mount w/ 2 long-barreled HACs (flash-suppressed), cyberlink, Ir-laser rangefinder, AA ladar & gunner, 10 pts CA on gunner, HD shocks, 4 10-pt wheel hubs, 20-pt gunshield. 6,620 lbs, $132,060.

SWARM
If area-denial is your game, then a Swarm is the weapon system for you. The Swarm is a simple, towed rocket-launcher system which can shroud the target area with multiple, overlapping explosions. This unit's biggest selling point is its low price.

Swarm: 12-space field carriage (360-degree mounting), 4 PROR tires, 4 linked VFRPs, HD shocks, 4 10-pt wheel hubs, 20-pt artillery gunshield. 3,170 lbs, $24,660.

THUNDERBOLT
The Thunderbolt is a heavy AA gun designed to engage targets at long ranges. The effective range of this weapon exceeds 10,000 yards. It is named for the noise produced when it fires and when its shells detonate.

Thunderbolt: 16-space field carriage, 4 PROR tires, 16-space AA mount w/ long-barreled 90-mm TG (flash-suppressed) & proximity-fuzed HE, 1 extra magazine (all ammo is proximity-fuzed HE), cyberlink, AA ladar, Ir-laser rangefinder, gunner, HD shocks, 4 10-pt wheel hubs, 20-pt gunshield. 6,795 lbs, $123, 010.

ZEUS
The Zeus is a towed field gun named after the king of the Greek Gods. It is designed to perform harassment & interdiction missions as well as general fire-support. This weapon is capable of hurling 200-lb shells to distances exceeding 25 miles. The Zeus is deployed in batteries of 6 or 8 weapons each, with fire control provided by a separate vehicle.

Zeus: 30-space field carriage (360-degree mounting), 8 PR truck tires, long-barreled 175-mm gun, HD shocks, 4 10-pt wheel hubs, 20-pt artillery gunshield. 14,620 lbs, $781,200.

SELF-PROPELLED GUNS & ROCKET LAUNCHERS

A major tactical innovation in the history of artillery took place during World War I. This was the introduction of self-propelled chassis which could carry the weapon and its crew anywhere on the battlefield. With this invention, artillery now had the ability to keep up with the pace of battle.

MATV
The MATV (Mobile Anti-Tank Vehicle) is designed to be operated by a three-man crew. It gives a unit commander a powerful anti-armor capability at a fraction of the cost of full-size AFVs. By changing the ammo load to standard HE, the MATV's crew can engage in gunfire support missions.

ROCKET STORM
The Rocket Storm is an area-bombardment vehicle named for the absolute blizzard of explosive firepower it can unleash onto the battlefield. It is a favorite weapon in many military forces because of its cost (less than half of a large-bore SP artillery piece). A nightmarish variant of the Rocket Storm design involves modifying all of its rockets for laser guidance, then sending forward a scout vehicle with a laser designator to mark particular targets for destruction.

Rocket Storm: 150-space AFV hull, giant AFV power plant w/ upgrades, long-barreled HVMG w/ extra magazine (all ammo is HD) in 4-space universal turret TF, 50-space remote-controlled open mount w/ 50 7" rockets TB, HrSwc (HVMG), light amplification, military radar, counter-battery computer, artillery rangefinder, military radio, NBC/IR shielding w/ 3 extra air bottles, driver & 3 crewmen, 4 safety seats, 4 10-pt tread skirts, 50% hull armor sloping, Laminate AFV Armor: F80/80 (20%), B30/45 (10%), RF45/45 (10%), RB45/45 (10%), LF45/45 (10%), LB45/45 (10%), TF25/30, TB25/30, UF10/25, UB10/25. WHEELED AFVs

Wheeled AFVs are popular with many military forces because of their high top speed and low price. They are also commonly employed by police departments and corporate security offices because they don't damage the roads as much as tracked AFVs do. On the whole, wheeled AFVs carry less armor than tracked AFVs. Even so, don't sell them short. In groups of 2-4, wheeled AFVs are more than a match for any tank on the battlefield.

RANGER
Government agencies and private corporations who have a need for advanced battlefield surveillance capability are truning to the Ranger scout car. Manufactured by DKI/New Omaha, this vehicle has been fitted with the best military sensors available. TRACKED AFVs

Ever since they first crawled over the battlefields of World War I, tanks have symbolized the brute force of modern warfare. The AFV of the 21st Century carries on this proud tradition, with devastating firepower and an armor package that makes it invulnerable to anything except another AFV (or a nuclear weapon). The best advice for infantry or light vehicles caught on a battlefield where AFVs are fighting each other is to avoid being noticed.

TITAN
The Titan MBT is a new AFV design from the Military Products Division of DKI/New Omaha. It has nearly double the range of any other MBT in current production, as well as a significant cargo capacity. The Titan's mission is to engage other MBTs for extended periods of time, hence the powerful armament and large ammunition supply. The Titan wasn't given a missile launcher because of the vulnerability of missiles to modern AA fire.
