BOATS

For milennia, boats were the preferred way of moving passengers and cargo long distances. In present-day 2046, boats have assumed new importance in transportation because fast, inexpensive air travel is no longer possible. On the recreational front, boats have become even more popular than they were in the 20th century because of the possibilities they offer in duelling.

SEA DART
The Sea Dart is an un-armed vessel designed for short-range courier runs. It is sometimes used in boat races.

VORTEX
The Vortex is primarily designed as an Anti-Aircraft Warfare vessel. Secondary missions include Anti-ship operations and cargo hauling. The Vortex has lethal weaponry and very heavy armor. Engaging it without benefit of superior numbers is not recommended. The Vortex II option is more heavily-armed, and is intended as a general-purpose fighting machine.

MORAY
The inexpensive Moray is a popular vehicle used for waterborne recreation and duelling. It is only lightly armed. However, it is extremely fast. In numbers, the Moray can be very dangerous to larger targets.

Moray: Streamlined hvy aquabike, mini boat power plant w/ upgrades, pilot, MG (F), SS (B), Swc, cycle windshell, Sloped Armor: F10, B6, U4. Acceleration: 10, HC: 2, Top Speed: 112.5 mph, 895 lbs, $4,544.

Option 2: Remove SS, armor sloping & 8 shots MG ammo. Add FCE (B). +$526, +5 lbs.

Option 3: Remove MG. Add blue-green PLL (F). +$4,125, no weight change.

BUSHWACKER
The Radius Motors Bushwacker is small, fast and only has one shot. It has become popular among those boat duellists who like to lie in wait, then ambush their targets. This craft's main selling point is its high speed. If you can't kill a Bushwacker with the first shot, it will likely escape.

Bushwacker: Rowboat, blueprinted 100 CI gas engine w/ tubular headers, VP turbocharger & 5-gallon HD gas tank, propellor, pilot, homing torpedo (R), Armor: F12, B11, R11, L11, T0, U18. Acceleration: 20, HC: 3, Top Speed: 110 mph, Base MPG: 50, 799 lbs, $9,315.

"B" version: Replace torpedo w/ SS. Add 15 points armor. $8,990.

TIGERSHARK
The Radius Motors Tigershark is an interesting speedboat design. It has a lethal weapons package that can reach out and bite enemy watercraft no matter where they try to run to. The Tigershark's only real weak point is relateively light armor.

SWORDFISH
The Swordfish is armed with 3 homing torpedoes and carries a minedropper loaded with floating mines to discourage pursuit. Its armor is limited, making this craft more suited for harassment missions.

UNDERTOW
The Radius Motors Undertow is a solid boat design with heavy armor and a variety of weapons. This craft's main weak point is the inherent inaccuracy of rocket weaponry.

RIPTIDE
The Radius Motors Riptide is named for its ability to tear the bottom off of enemy boats. With torpedoes as primary armament and a pair of MMLs as backup, the Riptide is easily able to compete in Division-15 duelling. This boat's main weakness is light armor.

Riptide: Dinghy w/ full boat top, small boat power plant, 2 propellors, pilot, 3 linked high-velocity homing torpedoes (1 R, 1 L, 1 B), 2 linked MMLs (1 R, 1 L), HrSwc, Armor: F10, B10, R10, L10, T8, U15. Acceleration: 5, HC: 3, Top Speed: 60 mph, 2,998 lbs, 13,719.
