Magic Castle

Built in 2039 during the increase popularity of autodueling, the Magic Castle is open year round with a regular season from April to October. Events feature cars, cycles, trikes, and hovercraft. An enclosed complex, the Magic Castle is part of the Dixie Duel Circuit.

Arena Features:
The outer walls are 15 feet high and have 75 DP. Gates are 10 feet high, have 10 DP, and will open when rammed. The arena surface is paved. Castle walls are 60 feet high, 75 DP, and is surrounded by a 30 foot deep moat (usually filled with water). The four bridges are 45 feet long, 60 DP, and can be raised or lowered in five turns. Bridges are left lowered for most events. Grandstands hold 60,000. Arena defenses consist of 16 x-ray lasers in universal turrets - 4 in the outer corners, 4 on the outside of the castle 4 on the castle interior. Each turret has 100 DP of armor.

Special Events:
The Maiden - A maiden in costume is asleep on a pallet in the center of the castle. She can only be awaken by a kiss from a duelist. The duelist who wakes the maiden wins. Anyone that kills is the maiden is disqualified and banned from the arena permanently. Prestige is doubled.

The Sword - A sword in a stone block is in the center of the castle. The duelist that pulls the sword out of the stone wins. Anyone that destroys the sword is disqualified and banned from the arena for six months. Prestige is doubled.

The King - A duelist has to hold the castle from all other duelists. The events ends after all opponents have been eliminated or at the end of a time limit. If using a time limit, the defending duelist has to be the only one with operable offensive weapons within the castle walls when the limit is reached. Double prestige.

Lock Out - The gates are closed (and locked) and bridges raised after the duelists enter the arena. Dueling continues until only one is left with a mobile vehicle.
Prestige is tripled.

Storm the Castle - All bridges are up and will begin to lower on the fifth turn. The duelist that enters the castle and holds it, either by being the only vehicle with
functioning offensive weapons after a time limit or destroying all other competitors, wins. Prestige is quadrupled.

The Hat - A sorcerer's hat is placed in the center of the castle. The duelist that gets the hat and puts it on wins. Anyone that destroys the hat is disqualified and banned from the arena for two months. Prestige is doubled.
