Some Amazing Little Vehicles

by Norman McMullen

We all know what autoduellists do most of the time, but what do they do to relax besides watching holovision? In the 2030s there had to be amusement parks for duellists and families to go to. Of course, the parks had to be duelling orientated. Among all the games and rides you'll find a small arena and race track set aside for go-carts, mini-cars and bumper cars. These are perfect for kids and adults who want to practice there duelling skills.

Go-Karts: These have been updated with stronger chassis and a good handling class because of their low slung body styles. Usually not more than five feet long, two wide, and two high they are capable of speeds of 40 mph + and may be purchased either as kits or in completed forms.

Go-Kart Chassis

Cost Weight Max Load Spaces Armor
$125 150 lbs 525 lbs 3 10/4

Go-karts have a HC of 3, uses micro power plants or small engines, and micro tires. They have five armor locations: front, left, right, back, and under. Cycle power plants can be used to power go-karts too.

Micro Power Plants:

Size Cost Weight Spaces DP Power
Small $250 50 lbs. 1 1 200 PF
Large $325 75 lbs. 1 1 300 PF

Small Engines:

Cubic Inch Cost Weight Spaces DP PF MPG
5 $300 25 1 1 200 90
20 $600 55 1 1 400 75
40 $800 85 1 2 600 65
75 $1,875 135 2 5 1,000 55

Micro Tires:

Type Cost Weight DP
Standard $50 10 lbs. 1
Solid $100 20 lbs. 2

Mini-Cars: These are small replicas of cars, planes, boats, etc, used in advertising and are definitely attention getters. Mini-cars come in three chassis sizes and their armor may be molded into different styles at no extra cost.

Mini-Car chassis:

Size Cost Weight Max Load Spaces Armor
Light $150 175 lbs. 600 lbs. 4 10/4
Medium $175 200 lbs. 700 lbs. 5 11/5
Heavy $200 250 lbs. 800 lbs. 6 12/6

The HC of mini-cars is 3 and they have six armor locations like a normal car. Mini-cars cannot mount turrets, EWPs, and REWPs. They may be powered by cycle, micro power plants, or small engines. They also use micro tires.

Bumper-Cars: These are specially designed cars that can withstand impacts for the sides and come in one chassis size. Bumper-cars have a HC of 4 and armor locations are the same as go-karts. They also use the same power plants, engines, and tires as go-karts.

Bumper-Car chassis:

Cost Weight Max. Load Spaces Armor
$100 125 lbs. 500 lbs. 3 10/4

Bumper-cars, because of their special construction and shock-absorbing bumpers, can withstand up to 15 mph collisions to their fronts, sides, and rears without damage. Any collision above 15 mph subtract 15 from it and figure accordingly. Bumper-cars take a D2 hazard in any collision.

All vehicles listed use a 1/2" x 1/2" counter.

Duelling: Most duelling in these is done with handweapons or light vehicular weapons. Targeting penalties are -2 to any side and tires are at -5 to target.
