Dropped Weapons

Mostly Solid Stuff

Tate Manufacturing Buster
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, GL front. Armor: F14, L10, R10, B10, T4, U6 with 4 10-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,520 lbs., $4,254.*
    * Does not include price of grenades.
Rotary magazine option - change tires to HD. Add rotary magazine. 2,490 lbs., $4,354.
Typically loaded with explosive grenades for $250. If part of a team, then the loadout could be changed to other grenade types. The rotary magazine option is quite popular due to its versatility.

Galleria Explosive Egg
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, GL w/magazine front, magazine switch, 10 points CA for driver. Armor: F15, L10, R10, B12, T3, U3 with 4 2-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 115, HC 3; 2,995 lbs., $4,489. * Does not include price of grenades.
Small Egg variant - change power plant to small w/PC & SC. Remove six points of armor. Slope remaining armor. Armor: F13, L9, R9, B11, T2, U3. Top speed 90; 2,759 lbs., $4,322.
As it stands, the Explosive Egg (E2) can hold 20 explosive grenades easily. The magazine switch allows some versatility, though the E2 can’t carry a full magazine of the most expensive grenade types.

Imperial Motors Hot Omelet
Compact, standard chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, GL w/explosive grenades front, FT rear. Armor: F15, L12, R12, B15, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 102.5, HC 2; 3,416 lbs., $4,993
The main weakness of grenade launcher-equipped vehicles is the inherent randomness of the weapon itself. Imperial Motors answer was to equip the Hot Omelet with a flamethrower so it could engage in direct-fire combat.

Sabre Motors Minester
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, MD rear, high torque motors. Armor: F20(ramplate), L12, R12, B12, T5, U7 with 4 5-point wheelguards. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 90/67.5 with HTMs, HC 3; 2,520 lbs., $4,978.
Incendiary option - remove eight points of wheelguard armor. Change mines to incendiary. 2,488 lbs., $4,998.
Incendiary Turn variant - remove four points of wheelguard armor. Tires to HD. Mines to incendiary. Add spoiler. HC 3/4@60+; 2,514 lbs., $4,913.
An archetypical division-5 rammer. High acceleration to get into action, a strong ramplate for when contact is finally made, and a dropped weapon to discourage pursuit. For that little something extra there's the Incendiary Turn option.

Excaliber Zone Commander
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, MD w/proximity-fused mines rear, MR on mini-rocket platform. Armor: F12, L12, R12, B17, T5, U7 with 4 4-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,499 lbs., $4,990.
    Non-MR option - remove MR and mini-rocket platform. Top speed 92.5; 2,399 lbs., $4,775.
Another twist available for those that like mines. In critical spots proximity-fused mines can wreak havoc on opponents. The option allows for the mines to be made napalm, along with the addition of wheelhubs, dischargers, and additional vehicular armor.

Delta Automotive Tire Miner
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked incendiary MRs front w/bumper trigger, MD rear, bumper spikes front. Armor: F20, L12, R12, B14, T5, U7. Accel 5, top speed 110, HC 3; 3,110 lbs., $4,955.
HR option - replace MRs with linked pair of regular HRs. 3,160 lbs., $4,795.
JD Ram version - replace MRs with JD left linked to JD right. JDs linked to MD. Remove bumper spikes. Add ramplate. Move bumper trigger rear. Top speed 107.5; 3,240 lbs., $4,920.*
    * For napalm mines remove two points of non-front armor. 3,228 lbs., $4,994.
The Tire Miner is the compact version of mine-armed subcompacts in this division. A pair of linked medium rockets, equipped with incendiary warheads, can deliver a one-time hot hello to another duelist. Bumper spikes add that little extra for low-speed rams. A ramplate version was also made, dropping the rockets and bumper spikes but adding junk droppers for more arena floor coverage.

Lymestwold Toe Breaker
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MD rear, SD left linked to SD right, link - MD to SDs. Armor: F11, L14, R14, B17, T4, U6 with 2 3-point wheelguards and 2 3-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 3; 3,104 lbs., $4,998.
Extra Toes version - remove SDs and links. Add MD magazine rear and 10 points of CA for driver. Top speed 112.5; 3,059 lbs., $4,948.
The Toe Breaker stands as one of the most dangerous tire-shredding vehicles in division-5. It can seal off critical areas of an arena with a double wall of spikes with mines in the center. Only exceptionally lucky duelists can get past this barrier with no damage. The barrier remains deadly even after the mines go off, even for those duelists using sold tires. For sustained minelaying go with the Extra Toes version.

Radius Motors Firebomb
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, SMD w/napalm ammo rear, bumper trigger rear. Armor: F30, L30, R30, B30, T7, U9. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,750 lbs., $4,746. *
    * Same price if using spider mines. Decrease price by $250 if using regular or TDX mines.
With this particular load of mines you can expect plenty of burning car bottoms and tires. Its tires are unprotected, but getting at them when the vehicle is at speed is a problem. Put your own dropped weapons in its path in response and start working on that armor.

Foster Mystery
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, SMD w/TDX ammo linked to SS rear, JD left. Armor: F14, L15, R15, B19, T6, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 3; 3,160 lbs., $4,995. *
    * Same price if using regular mines.
Secret Stuff variant - replace SMD with SfS (10 rounds). Add blow-through concealment for SfS and fake weapons rear (SMD). Top speed 112.5; 3,035 lbs.
Hidden Oil variant - replace SMD with OJ (10 rounds pyrophoric oil). Add blow-through concealment for OJ and fake weapons rear (SMD). Top speed 112.5; 3,035 lbs., $4,695.
Hot Boom variant - replace SMD with MD (napalm load). $4,845.
Are there mines under that cloud of smoke or not? Instilling a sense of uncertainty is the goal of this Foster vehicle. To add to the confusion there are three variants with equally dangerous weapon loads. The mines can be changed out for a sticky foam sprayer or the increasingly popular oil jet loaded with pyrophoric oil. For a gift that keeps on giving try the napalm-loaded minedropper variant. The weapons port is identical to that of a SMD, and there’s the bonus that under each smoke cloud could be a waiting napalm mine.

Magnum Motors Piledriver
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC and SC, 4 PR tires, driver, JD rear w/magazine, mini-rocket platform with two linked LRs. Armor: F20, L15, R15, B18, T7, U7 w/4 10-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,760 lbs., $4,377.
Ram version - change tires to HD and remove 4 points of wheelguard armor. Add ramplate and high torque motors. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 90/67.5 with HTM. 2,754 lbs., $4,667.
Like many of the dropped weapon-centered designs here, this car works best as part of a team. The Piledriver is a well armored and protected vehicle. Strong wheelguards and underbody armor allow the driver to operate in a flame cloud and mine-intense environment. The light rockets gives the driver a chance to finish off a vehicle crippled by a teammate. The new ram version changes PR tires for HD, but gains acceleration thanks to high torque motors.

Indra Motors Lint Collector
Compact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, JD w/magazine left linked to JD w/magazine right, high torque motors, spoiler and airdam. Armor: F22, L22, R22, B22, T4, U7. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 102.5/75 with HTM, HC 3/4 @ 60+; 3,504 lbs., $4,987.
One of rare division-5 compacts that has a standard chassis, all due to the weight of its junk droppers. High torque motors and good maneuverability allow the Lint Collector to lay a line of junk across an arena.

Nakachi Motors Corporation Quarry Cat
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MG front, JD w/2 magazines rear, link. Armor: F20, L15, R15, B17, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 3; 3,315 lbs., $4,995.
Compacts have to contend with their overall higher prices compared to subcompacts. The Quarry Cat compensates for this by using a magazine-fed junk dropper. Due to the low cost of that weapon, this car carries a worthy amount of armor.

Atlantic Motors Junk Vendor
Mid-size, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front. JD w/magazine left, right, and back, 4 links. Armor: F18, L13, R13, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 2; 3,983 lbs., $4,986.
Maneuver version - Replace MML w/HR. Suspension to heavy. Add spoiler. HC 3/4 @ 60+; 4,038 lbs., $4,936.
Max Maneuver version - Remove MML and 5 points of armor. Tires to SB Standard. Suspension to heavy. Add spoiler, airdam, and 4 points of component armor for driver. HC 3/4 @ 60+; 4,014 lbs., $4,996.
This division-5 mid-size has decent armor and the weight to handle a full sixty loads of junk dropper ammo. It can dirty up the arena in a hurry, so don't let it do so. The maneuver variant is more common, but a wily duelist could hold his own in the regular version.

Tate Manufacturing Caltrop Cannon
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, SG front. Armor: F24, L12, R12, B12, T4, U4 with 4 5-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,520 lbs., $4,398.
Maneuver version - chassis to x-heavy, PC to SC, tires to HD. Add spoiler, airdam. HC3/4@60+; 2,580 lbs., $4,848.
Ram version - Remove 4 points of non-front armor. Tires to HD. Add ramplate, high torque motors. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 90/67.5 with HTM, $4,750.
No bones about it, this vehicle is out for your tires. Go for the sides and rear to bring this bad boy down. The ram version, like several other division-5 subcompacts, takes advantage of the newly-introduced high torque motors.

Crane Industries Sharp End
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, SG w/9 rounds front, 2 30-lbs rocket boosters rear. Armor: F18(ram), L11, R11, B10, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,000 lbs., $4,809. Add 10 acceleration when one rocket booster is fired.
HTM variant - remove rocket boosters, one point non-front armor. Add high torque motors, JD rear, four points of CA for driver. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 112.5/82.5 with HTM, 3,075 lbs, $4,986.
Fine Edge version - remove rocket boosters, two points non-front armor. Add platinum catalysts to power plant, three points of CA for driver. Slope the armor. Accel. 10, top speed 120; 2,940 lbs., $4,819.
A unique combination of ram and rocket boosters in this division-5 vehicle. Typically a Sharp End driver would immobilize or limit the maneuverability of an opponent with his spike gun, then move in for the ram with a speed boost from his rockets. High torque motors have reduced the usefulness of rocket boosters, but there will always be those who prefer the push of rockets above all else.

Atlantic Motors Tack
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, two linked SDs w/explosive loads (one left, one right). Armor: F16, R20, L20, B24, T5, U7. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,520 lbs., $4,562. *
Maneuver version - chassis to x-heavy, PC to SC, tires to HD, remove two points of armor. Add spoiler and airdam. HC 4/5@60+; 2,570 lbs., $4,990.
Ram version - tires to HD. Add ramplate and high torque motors. Add 4 3-point wheelguards. Armor: F24(ram), L14, R14, B14, T5, U7. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 90/67.5 with HTM. HC 3; 2,518 lbs., $4,924.*
    * Moving one SD rear and changing the other into a SD magazine will save $100 and 10 lbs.
Strong armor and PR tires allow the Tack to lay its trail of explosive spikes even in intense combat situations. The new ram version can get into the thick of combat thanks to its high torque motors.

Foster Tack Trail
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 PR tires, driver, SD w/magazine left linked to SD w/magazine right, MR on mini-rocket platform. Armor: F14, L14, R14, B15, T6, U7. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 3; 3,150 lbs., $4,995.
Tack Wall variant - remove SD magazines. Move SDs to left-rear corner and right-rear corner. Add SD rear and link it. Add MR front. 3,145 lbs., $4,985.
Similar to the Lint Collector, the Tack Trail's spikes can cause more damage than debris. The medium rocket is provided to take advantage of a close-range shot against an opponent with damaged armor. For a nice area-denying line of spikes go with the Tack Wall variant.

Hudson Manufacturing Tack Master
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, SD left linked to SD right. Armor: F13, L11, R11, B11, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,022 lbs., $4,996. *
Junk Master variant - change SDs to JDs. RL ammo to incendiary. Armor: F17, L14, R14, B14, T3, U5. Top speed 107.5; 3,272 lbs., $4,941.
    * Moving one SD rear and changing the other into a SD magazine will save $100 and 10 lbs.
Basically this is a scaled-down version of larger, more expensive cars. Solid tires are almost unheard of in division-5; standard spikes are cheap and keep on dishing out the hurt instead of blowing up like explosive spikes. The Junk Master version is for those that like to mix fire with their junk.

Hudson Manufacturing Tack Fighter
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, SD w/2 extra magazines rear. Armor: F20, L14, R14, B15, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,066 lbs., $4,993.
First Punch option - remove one SD magazine. Add HR front. Top speed 110; 3,101 lbs., $4,943.
For a spike trail that can stretch from one end of the arena to the other you can't be the Tack Fighter. It has more armor than the Tack Master, but the micro missile launcher is its only direct-fire weapon. The First Punch variant trades in a spike dropper magazine for a heavy rocket, speeding up the destruction of a foe by more direct means.

Pavement Puddles

Mitsui Motors Ice Walker
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, mini-rocket platform w/2 linked LRs, ID rear. Armor: F14, L15, R15, B21, T6, U6 with 4 5-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,515 lbs., $4,872.
Like its Fire Walker cousin, the Ice Walker's defenses allows it to place its slippery ammo in the most effect spots in an arena. The rockets allow the driver to take advantage of duelists that get onto the ice patches, giving them a big hazard if they get hit.

Conquistador Ice Maker
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, ID rear. Armor: F20(ram), L15, R15, B15, T5, U6 with 4 5-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,460 lbs., $4,916.
HD variant - Change tires to HD. Remove 4 points of non-front armor and 4 points of wheelguard armor. PC to SC. Add HTMs. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 95/70 with HTMs; 2,384 lbs., $4,982.
The only difference between this vehicle and the Ice Walker is that Conquistador opted for a ramplate instead of a rocket platform. The HD variant has experienced an increased in sales recently because it incorporated high torque motors and still was within division-5 limits.

Macmillan Motors Unpaved Road
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, ID rear, JD left linked to JD right, link - ID to JDs, 3 MNRs on mini rocket platform. Armor: F15, L16, R16, B20, T4, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 107.5, HC 3; 3,226 lbs., $4,983. (with two unlinked LRs -10 lbs, with MR -$10 and -10 lbs.)
This British import enhances the hazard of ice with junk. If a car crosses the junk and ice at the same time it's enough of a hazard for serious skids or even spinouts. Again, it's a team vehicle, and no amount of ice can stop a steady barrage of rockets and bullets.

Macmillan Motors Rockslide
Mid-size, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, ID rear, JD w/mag rear linked to ID, 10 points CA for driver. Armor: F9, L10, R10, B11, T2, U2. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 3; 3,342 lbs., $4,984.
Cargo capacity: 2 spaces, 858 lbs.
Major Slide variant - remove ten ID loads. Add JD left linked to JD right. Link from side JDs to rear weapons. Top speed 100; 3,572 lbs., $4,984.
Weak on armor, but the layout allows the junk to be placed on the ice instead of next to it. Component armor enhances the driver's chance of survival, by the way. The Major Slide option clutters up the arena floor with even more junk.

Linden Motors Glacier
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, HDID rear, 3 MNRs on mini-rocket platform, JD left. Armor: F10, L10, R10, B10, T2, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 2; 3,021 lbs., $4,993. (with two unlinked LRs -10 lbs, with MR -$10 and -10 lbs.)
Slush Ice option - replace HDID with HDFOJ. Add 4 points of armor. 2,985 lbs., $4,995.
Black Ice option - replace HDID with HDOJ w/7 rounds of pyrophoric oil. 2,927 lbs., $4,893.
Black Ice Extra - as above, but change power plant to small w/PC & SC. Add additional round of pyrophoric oil. Add five points CA for driver. Top speed 90; 2,755 lbs., $4,993.
For all-out ice coverage you can't beat the Linden Motors Glacier. The mini-rockets allow the driver to inflict a heavy hazard if he catches a foe on a nearby ice patch. Practically identical in looks are the Slush Ice and Black Ice versions. The Slush Ice packs a heavy-duty flaming oil jet and the Black Ice a partial load of pyrophoric oil. Only when they fire will you know which version you're facing.

Samson Oil Can
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, OJ rear. Armor: F16, L13, R13, B14, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,013 lbs., $4,989.
The low cost of the oil jet allows the Oil Can to carry a good load of armor. Get in close with the rocket launcher and leave a slippery trail of oil for your foe to spin around on.

Samson Oil Barrel
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, HDOJ rear. Armor: F16, L13, R13, B14, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 115, HC 3; 2,943 lbs., $4,989.
Oil-10 version - downgrade suspension to improved, remove one point of armor. Add platinum catalysts to power plant. Accel. 10, top speed 120, HC 2; 2,937 lbs., $4,976.
Barrel Rider variant - change power plant to small w/PC & SC. Add three points CA for driver. Change MML ammo to AP. Top speed 90; 2,755 lbs. $4,969.
For more coverage, the Oil Barrel uses a HDOJ. Thanks to the low weight, the Oil-10 version, at expense of some handling, has higher acceleration. The Barrel Rider is for those that like to make the MML rounds AP.

Republic Motors Oil Baron
Mid-size, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, HDOJ w/magazine rear, JD w/magazine right linked to HDOJ, MR on mini rocket platform, 10 points CA for driver. Armor: F8, L9, R9, B11, T2, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 100, HC 2; 3,559 lbs., $4,983. * MR often replaced with 2 unlinked LRs (+$10) or 3 unlinked MNRs (+$10, +10 lbs.).
For massive oil coverage, the Oil Baron uses an extra magazine to make an arena floor look like an oil lake. Component armor gives the driver a moment to consider surrender if his vehicular armor is breached.

Foster Greased Lightning
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, OJ rear, MR on mini rocket platform, spoiler, airdam, high torque motors. Armor: F22(ram), L13, R13, B15, T4, U6 with 4 5-point wheelguards. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 90/67.5 with HTM, HC 3/4@60+; 2,585 lbs., $4,989.
Flash Lightning version - Remove rocket platform. Change chassis to heavy and SC to PC. 2,485 lbs., $4,474.*
Heat Lightning version - as Flash, but change OJ to FOJ w/20 rounds. 2,480 lbs., $4,974.
    * With 15 rounds of pyrophoric oil cost $4,974 and 2,465 lbs.
Foster, better known for its buses, has also entered the division-5 arena with this appropriately named vehicle. High torque motors allow the Greased Lightning to get up to speed for those armor-crushing rams. The medium rocket can finish the leftovers. For those that like to add dischargers Foster produced a version without a rocket platform.

Death Knight Industries Oil Burner
Subcompact, heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, OJ w/20 rounds of pyrophoric oil B, high torque motors. Armor: F30, L23, R23, B27, T8, U9. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 97.5/72.5 with HTMs, HC 3; 2,475 lbs, $4,970.
The Oil Burner is best used as a team player. Pyrophoric oil turns the otherwise mundane oil jet into an effective area-denial weapon. It is heavily armored compared to other division-5 vehicles. The Oil Burner's strong points are its nimbleness and quick acceleration; engage it from the sides or the front.

Indra Motors Oil River
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, OJ w/15 rounds of pyrophoric oil B, 2 linked HRs on small rocket platform, 2 linked MRs front. Armor: F15, L12, R12, B14, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 3; 3,131 lbs., $4,993.
MFR option - change HRs to MFR. -50 lbs.
FOJ variant - change OJ to FOJ w/20 rounds. 3,146 lbs.
With some skill, an Oil River driver can take out two fresh opponents. The two linked heavy rockets alone can breach the side of the average division-5 car. In the arena, the only way to tell this car from its FOJ variant is to wait and see if the oil starts to burn on its own accord.

Mitsui Motors Fire Walker
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, mini-rocket platform w/2 linked LRs, FOJ rear. Armor: F15, L16, R16, B22, T6, U6 with 4 5-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,515 lbs., $4,841.
PR tires, wheelguards, and strong armor allows this Mitsui design to lay its trail of burning oil in the heat of battle.

Republic Motors Spittoon Master
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, OG front w/rotary magazine - 2 rounds oil, 4 rounds ice, 4 rounds flaming oil. JD rear. Armor: F14, L12, R12, B12, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 2; 3,093 lbs., $4,994.
A rotary magazine allows versatility in loadouts. Maneuverability is not a factor for this car. The Spittoon Master has to maneuver just enough to get line of sight to its arena floor target.

Ace Vehicles Unlimited Gumshoe
Subcompact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, SfS rear, spoiler, airdam, high torque motors. Armor: F13, L13, R13, B16, T3, U5. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 95/70 with HTM, HC 4/5@60+; 2,300 lbs., $4,893.
Slick variant - replace SfS with OJ loaded with pyrophoric oil.
This little number lives up to its name. A fully-loaded sticky foam sprayer will slow everyone down and rip up tires with the best of them. Acceleration and maneuverability enable the Gumshoe to get out of trouble as fast as it gets into it. The Slick variant is one of the few vehicles on this list that has a full load of pyrophoric oil.

Fnord Motors Sure Stick
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, SfS rear with magazine (20 rounds), 8 points of CA for driver. Sloped armor: F12, L13, R13, B17, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 2,638 lbs., $4,973.
Sure Slick option - replace SfS with OJ loaded with pyrophoric oil. OJ magazine has 12 rounds of pyrophoric oil. 2,632 lbs.
Leave it to Fnord to produce the only division-5 car carrying the most sticky foam loads. The Sure Slick option is also distinguished for having the most pyrophoric oil loads as well. Able to lay a trail from one end of the arena to the other, the Sure Stick can be sure of at least some tire damage in every fight.

Smoke in my Eyes

Grenadier Gunsmoke
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, GS w/magazine (all smoke) rear. Armor: F16, L14, R14, B14, T3, U5 with 2 3-point wheelguards and 2 3-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 3; 3,169 lbs., $4,998. * with all GS loads paint -60 lbs.
Grenadier went with a gas streamer because it was less expensive than using a standard smokescreen. The ability to direct the streamer within its arc of fire was another advantage.

Kane Motors Cloud Cover
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, HDSS rear, 4 points CA for driver. Armor: F15, L13, R13, B13, T2, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,061 lbs., $4,990.
For long term and wide area vision denial you want the Cloud Cover. Due to expense, an extra magazine was not fitted. Instead some component armor was installed, giving the driver a measure of protection.

Kane Motors Graffiti Artist
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, PS rear, PS magazine (20 rounds), 4 points CA for driver. Armor: F15, L13, R13, B13, T2, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 115, HC 3; 2,941 lbs., $4,990.
Graffiti Max version - power plant to small w/PC & SC, add final five paint loads to magazine, one additional point of CA for driver, and slope the armor. 2,755 lbs., $4,978.
The Graffiti Artist uses a paint sprayer instead of smoke. With an almost-full extra magazine the Artist can lay an extensive trail of paint clouds. The Max version, as the name implies, has a full load of paint and sloped armor as well.

Pantheon Motors Pixie Dust
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, HDPS rear, high torque motors, spoiler. Armor: F22(ram), L12, R12, B14, T5, U6. Accel. 5/10 w/HTMs, top speed 90/67.5 w/HTMs, HC 4/5@60+; 2,400 lbs., $4,819.
Dark Mist variant - add PC to power plant, change HDPS to HDSS. 2,520 lbs., $4,619.
If you want to give your opponents a hard time hitting you then go with the Pixie Dust. The heavy duty paint spray will make them fumble their shots while you accelerate for a frame-rattling ram.

Conquistador Fire Maker
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, FCE rear. Armor: F20(ram), L15, R15, B15, T5, U6 with 4 5-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,460 lbs., $4,766.
Maneuver variant - tires to HD. Add spoiler and airdam. HC 3/4@60+; 2,520 lbs., $4,916.
Spiteful punch variant - tires to HD. Add mini-rocket platform w/AP MR. 2,520 lbs., $4,651.
HTM variant - change tires to HD, remove 4 points of non-front armor. Add high torque motors and spoiler. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 90/67.5 with HTM. HC3/4@60+; 2,450 lbs., $4,997.
The opposite to the Ice Maker. The driver can fire one round at a time or set the ejector on automatic as needed. The ramplate just adds to the carnage. High torque motors have increased the popularity of the Fire Maker, not only for its higher acceleration but also for its improved handling at high speed.

Mitsui Motors Firewall
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, FCGS rear. Armor: F15, L16, R16, B22, T6, U6 with 4 7-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,517 lbs., $4,271.
HR version - chassis to x-heavy and PC to SC. Remove three points of armor and four points of wheelguard armor. Add mini-rocket platform w/AP HR. 2,636 lbs., $4,873.
MR version - chassis to x-heavy and PC to SC. Remove one point of armor. Add mini-rocket platform w/incendiary MR. 2,637 lbs., $4,915.
Maneuver version - chassis to x-heavy and PC to SC. Tires to HD. Remove one point of armor and 8 points of wheelguard armor. Add spoiler, airdam, mini-rocket platform w/AP MR. Top speed 90; HC 3/4@60+; 2,640 lbs., $4,915.
Fire Ram variant - Tires to HD. Remove 2 points of armor. Add ramplate and high torque motors. Armor: F18(ram), L15, R15, B19, T6, U6. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, Top speed 90/67.5 with HTM. 2,512 lbs., $4,546.
Flame clouds are one of the deadliest weapons in division-5. Duelists can't afford to have too much top and bottom armor because a point of top armor is a point that won't stop a rocket damaging your side. On the flipside, the Firewall has thick armor for subcompact, making up for its lack of direct-fire weapons. The driver has only two shots with the streamer, and once they're gone the car is just a block of plastic on wheels (unless it's a Fire Ram).

Mitsui Firewall II
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, FCGS left, FCGS right. Armor: F15, L21, R21, B15, T5, U6. Accel 5, top speed 110, HC 3; 3,108 lbs., $4,999.
Sloped armor variant - remove one FCGS. Add magazine for remaining FCGS. Slope the armor. Top speed 112.5; 3,023 lbs., $4,957.
With two flame cloud gas streamers the Firewall II has more durability in combat. The sloped armor version gives more protection but makes placement of the flameclouds a bit more tricky.

Nevada Systems Warpaint
Subcompact, standard chassis, improved suspension, 50 cid gas engine w/TH, 4 gallon HD gas tank, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front. GS w/paint left, right, and rear. Armor: F17, L14, R14, B15, T4, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 60, HC 3; 2,172 lbs., $4,989.
The engineers at Nevada Systems decided that the extra space freed up by a gas engine more than compensated for the low top speed. Called Warpaint, this car has three gas streamers loaded with paint to befuddle opponents.

Linden Motors Fog of War
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/incendiary ammo front, GS w/paint loads left and right, GS w/smoke loads rear, MR on mini rocket platform. Armor: F15, L12, R12, B12, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 110*, HC 3; 3,158 lbs., $4,989. * top speed 107.5 and 3,218 lbs if all GS loads are smoke.
Where there's smoke, you'll find the Fog of War. With walls of smoke and paint available at the flip of the switch, a FoW driver can befuddle a multitude of opponents.

Ace Vehicles Unlimited Gas Dispenser
Mid-size, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver. GS (smoke) left, right, and rear. GS (paint) left, right, and rear. 2 linked MRs on small rocket platform. 10 points CA for driver. Armor: F13, L10, R10, B10, T2, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 97.5, HC 2; 3,752 lbs., $4,994.
Ace Vehicles Unlimited, better known for larger vehicles and trailers, made its first entry in division-5 dueling with this design. With walls of paint and smoke at his disposal the driver could cloud the eyes as well as the optics of his opponents. The twin medium rockets allow the Gas Dispenser to finish off a damaged foe at close range. With practically no-one using no-paint windshields in division-5 due to costs it's best to keep you distance and work off the modest armor on this car.

Nevada Systems Fumigator
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, LMG front, SS w/magazine rear, link - LMG to SS. 10 points of component armor for driver. Armor: F21, L12, R12, B14, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,056 lbs., $4,978.
Nozzle variant: remove SS magazine and three points of armor. Add GS (smoke) rear. 3,073 lbs., $4,989.
A straightforward design for those that like to select the amount of smoke to dispense. The Nozzle variant adds a degree of flexibility in smoke coverage.

Direct Fire Weapons

Sons of Goddard

Amex Budget Brawler 2
Mid-size, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG front, 3 linked pairs of MRs (one front, left, and right). Armor: F15, L12, R12, B11, T2, U2. Accel. 5, top speed 102.5, HC 1; 3,492 lbs., $4,984.
MML option: Replace LMG with MML. Add 18 points of armor. Top speed 100, 3,611 lbs., $4,972.
HR version: Remove LMG. MRs to HRs. Add small rocket platform w/2 linked HRs, 15 points of armor, and JD rear. Top speed 90; 4,187 lbs., $4,934.
Maneuver version: Remove LMG. Upgrade suspension to heavy. Side MRs to MFRs. Add JD rear. Top speed 100, HC 3; 3,567 lbs., $4,924.
The success of the first Budget Brawler, a division-10 vehicle, inspired Amex to create this design. With three pairs of medium rockets the Amex engineers thought it was enough to critically damage two fresh opponents, using the light machine to finish them off. Performance in the arena proved otherwise, and even the MML and HR versions couldn't make up for the poor handling. In an calculated move, the vehicle was redesigned, removing the light weapon in exchange for improved handling. Now more of a team support vehicle, the Budget Brawler 2 can salvo its rockets into a foe, weakening it for team mates to finish off. A junk dropper was added for dropped weapon capability.

Amex Combat Autoworks Budget Brawler 3
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MG front, 3 MRs (one each left, right, and front). Armor: F15, L12, R12, B11, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,008 lbs, $4,994.
HR option: Remove 6 rounds of MG ammo and two points of armor. MRs to HRs. Top speed 110; 3,131 lbs., $4,998.
A scaled down and more workable version of its big brother, the Budget Brawler 2. The rockets work over your armor and the machine gun does the rest.

Grenadier Rocket Lobster
Mid-size, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 4 linked MRs front. MR left and right. 2 linked MRs on small rocket platform. JD rear. Armor: F10, L10, R10, B10, T2, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 100, HC 3; 3,603 lbs., $4,986.
Rockin' Rockets variant - remove side MRs, downgrade rocket platform to mini with one MR. Front MRs replaced with two linked MFRs. Add JD left linked to JD right, link side JDs to rear JD. Add four points of armor. Top speed 97.5; 3,785 lbs., $4,995. *
Hardnose version - downgrade suspension to improved. Replace front MRs with two linked MFRs. HC 2; top speed 97.5; 3,703 lbs., $4,926. **
    * With four linked HRs instead of MFRs the top speed is 95 and weighs 3,885 lbs.
** With four linked HRs instead of MFRs the top speed is 95 and weighs 3,803 lbs.
Often called the 'division-5 Grand Slam', this Grenadier design may be short on armor but long on rockets. The four medium rockets up front, assuming all of them hit, can cave in and mess the insides of most division-5 cars. As with all rockets, the trick for a Rocket Lobster driver is getting in close for those point-blank shots.

Amex Rocket Miser
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, light suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG front, MR on REWP left and right (linked), MR on mini rocket platform, spoiler. Sloped armor: F15, L12, R12, B11, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 80 (90 without REWPs), HC 2/3@60+; 2,640 lbs., $4,998.
Miser Fist variant - remove spoiler and one point of armor. Add PC to power plant. Upgrade all MRs to HRs. HC 2; 2,735 lbs., $4,992.
Scrooge version - remove armor sloping and one point of armor. Add PC to power plant. Change LMG to MML. Add MR front and link it to REWP MRs. Top speed 82.5; 2,660 lbs., $4,915.
Scrooge II version - as above, but remove second MR link. Upgrade REWP MRs to HRs. Top speed 80; 2,760 lbs., $4,985.
The Rocket Miser can deliver two of its rockets up front in one volley, while the mini rocket platform can rotate to take advantage of an opportunistic point-blank shot. In designing this vehicle, the Amex engineers found it was cheaper to have a spoiler installed instead of an improved suspension. The Scrooge variant increases the volley to three rockets, made especially for those that want to take out an opponent in one shot. For those knowing they'll face metal armor, go with the Scrooge II. It's more of a simple rocket swap than a true variant, but the hitting power of two heavy rockets will even give a Fnord Foil Wrapper pause.

Amex Rocket Miser II
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 3 linked MRs front. MNR left, right, and rear. 2 linked MRs on small rocket platform, MR on REWP left linked to MR on REWP right. Armor: F14, L11, R11, B12, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 95 (105 without REWPs), HC 3; 3,300 lbs., $4,965.
JD option - Remove MNRs. Add JD w/6 rounds rear. 3,325 lbs., $4,865.
GS option - Remove MNRs and two points of armor. Add GS (smoke) rear. 3,328 lbs., $4,989. (-30 lbs. if GS loads are paint)
Going up one size and dropping the LMG, this Amex car has enough rockets for a fireworks display. Often compared to Grenadier's Rocket Lobster, the Rocket Miser II has the advantage of its smaller size, making it a bit harder to hit.

Amex Rocket Miser Extreme
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked MRs front, MR on mini rocket platform, MR on REWP left linked to MR on REWP right. Armor: F20, L16, R16, B16, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 80 (90 w/o REWPs), HC 3; 2,640 lbs., $4,261.
Maneuver variant - add PC to power plant, spoiler and airdam. HC 3/4@60+; 2,740 lbs., $4,911.
Heavy Hurt variant - add PC to power plant. Change front MRs to AP HRs. 2,740 lbs., $4,681.
Hot Hail variant - add PC to power plant. Front & REWP MRs to incendiary. 2,740 lbs., $4,921.
Avalanche variant - add PC to power plant. Front MRs to six linked AP MNRs. REWP MRs to HRs. 2,760 lbs., $4,851.
Alpine Avalanche variant - add PC to power plant. Remove seventeen points of armor. Front MRs to AP MFR. Remaining MRs to AP HRs. Armor: F16, L12, R12, B13, T3, U3. 2,755 lbs., $4,999.
Rocket Miser Ram version - add PC to power plant. Remove two points of non-front armor. Add ramplate. Front MRs to MFR, bumper trigger for MFR. Mini rocket platform MR to incendiary. 2,755 lbs., $4,979.
As the name implies, this subcompact goes to the extreme in regards to one-shot rockets. The ram variant has more durability in combat - as long as the front armor holds out.

Laser Factory Gnat
Subcompact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, two AP HRs front, targeting laser front and LGL for HRs. Armor: F13, L9, R9, B9, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 4; 2,300 lbs., $4,778.
Gnat II version --remove targeting laser, LGL, HRs. Change tires to PR. Add MFR front, 4 3-point wheelguards, 2 points of armor. HC 3; 2,298 lbs., $3,170.
Fire Gnat option - as Gnat II, but change MFR to 4 linked incendiary LRs. $3,470.
With two laser-guided armor-piercing heavy rockets the Gnat is the epitome of the 'one-shot, one-kill' philosophy. The variants are for those that like to use LAWs at point-blank range to supplement the hitting power of the rockets.

Laser Factory Gnat III
Subcompact, heavy chassis, standard suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, two AP HRs front, AP MR on mini-rocket platform, targeting laser front and LGL for rockets. Armor: F12, L9, R9, B9, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 2,390 lbs., $4,991.
Fire Gnat II version - remove TL, LGLs, HRs, MR and mini-rocket platform. Add RL w/incendiary ammo front, SWC, and six points of armor. Tires to FP. Armor (fireproof): F15, L10, R10, B10, T3, U4. 2,380 lbs., $4,994.
At the price of handling, the Gnat III can fire another laser-guided rocket at its foes. The Fire Gnat II is one of the few ‘killer popcans’ that doesn’t have to worry about its exterior being set on fire.

Atlantic Industries Horned Beetle
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked MRs front w/bumper trigger, MR left, MR right, incendiary MR on mini rocket platform, high torque motors. Armor: F20(ram), L11, R11, B12, T3, U4. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 112.5/85 with HTM, HC 3; 3,061 lbs., $4,918.
Small Platform option - replace mini-rocket platform with small rocket platform. Incendiary MR changed to regular, add additional MR to platform and link it. Top speed 110/82.5 with HTM; 3,136 lbs., $4,993.
Natural 10 option - remove high torque motors and two points non-front armor. Add superconductors to power plant. Accel. 10, top speed 120; 3,049 lbs., $4,992.
Incorporating high-torque motors at the onset of its design, the Horned Beetle can get to ram speeds just as quick as a division-5 subcompact with a medium power plant. Unlike the Amex Rocket Miser Extreme, the Horned Beetle's top speed isn't impaired by REWPs.

Atlantic Industries Auger
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MFR front w/bumper trigger, incendiary MR on mini rocket platform, spoiler, airdam, high torque motors, bumper spikes rear. Armor: F20(ram), L12, R12, B15, T3, U4. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 90/67.5 with HTM, HC 3/4@60+; 2,590 lbs., $4,966.
HR option - replace MFR with two linked HRs. 2,640 lbs.
Lite version - replace MFR with two linked AP MRs, remove 4 points non-front armor. Chassis to heavy and SC to PC. 2,520 lbs., $4,642.
The scaled-down version of the Horned Beetle. Bumper spikes were added for those occasions when ramming in reverse presented themselves. High-torque motors add that extra boost of acceleration for ramming.

Galleria Trap Door
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, MFR left w/blow-through concealment. Armor: F15, L12, R12, B12, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,074 lbs., $4,987.
Platform variant - remove MFR, blow-through concealment, and six points of armor. Add small rocket platform w/2 linked HRs, JD rear, 4 points CA for driver. Armor: F14, L11, R11, B11, T3, U3. Top speed 105; 3,319 lbs., $4,999. * with MFR on platform -50 lbs.
    HR swap option - remove MFR and blow-through concealment. Add HR left and right. Armor: F18, L13, R13, B16, T5, U5. Top speed 110; 3,180 lbs., $4,980.
Spike Trap variant - replace MFR with a SD and SD magazine (five rounds). 3,039 lbs.
The Trap Door has to depend on the punch of its rockets to win. The blow-through concealment adds a factor of uncertainty for those fighting this car. Owners often change the location of the MFR to the right or rear; some change the location after each duel. The platform version can deliver a death blow from all four sides thanks to the platform's rotation.

Galleria Trap Door 2
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, RL front, incendiary MR left and right. Armor: F18, L13, R13, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 3; 3,126 lbs., $4,988.
Built in limited numbers, the Trap Door 2 is externally identical to the Trap Door HR swap option. In a design compromise, the engineers went for steel-belted standard tires in order to add more vehicular armor.

Magnum Motors Jawbreaker
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 3 linked MRs front w/bumper trigger, JD rear, AP HR on mini rocket platform. Armor: F32(ram), L13, R13, B14, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 3; 3,311 lbs., $4,929.
Rocket Ram option - downgrade HR to standard MR, remove JD. Add 40 lbs. rocket booster rear. Top speed 110; 3,176 lbs., $4,919. Add 12.5 acceleration when rocket booster is fired.
HTM version - remove HR and rocket platform, ramplate to 30 points. Add high torque motors. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 110/82.5 with HTMs; 3,143 lbs., $4,889.
Combo version - as HTM version, but remove JD and 4 points of non-front armor. Add 40 lbs. rocket booster rear. Top speed 112.5/85 with HTMs; 3,034 lbs. $4,987. Add 12.5 acceleration when rocket booster is fired.
Natural Ten version - remove rocket platform, JD, and two points non-front armor. Add SC to power plant, two points CA for driver. Accel. 10, top speed 120; 3,032 lbs., $4,998.
With one of the strongest ramplates in division-5 the Jawbreaker is appropriately named. It also has a one-time nasty rocket punch that even metal-armored cars can't ignore. Compared to other rammers, the Jawbreaker has low acceleration, so it's best to take down this car while it's still going slow.
Magnum has recently addressed the Jawbreaker's acceleration problem with three distinct variants. The first utilizes a rocket booster while the second sacrifices the rocket platform for high torque motors. As for the third, it's for those that like to have both options. It depends on the buyer's taste on which variant he wants to use.

Crane Industries Rocket Rain
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MFR left and right, MFR on small rocket platform, high torque motors. Armor: F12, L15, R15, B12, T4, U5. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 107.5/80 with HTMs, HC 3; 3,238 lbs., $4,989.
Three multi-fire rocket pods will make anyone on the receiving end feel like it was raining rockets. With a respectable top speed with high torque motors the Rocket Rain can catch up and ruin any duelist's day.

Avtomobel Rosseyskey Katyusha
Compact, standard chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver. 3 MNRs each located front, left, right, and rear. 6 MNRs on small rocket platform. REWP left and right each with 3 MNRs. Armor: F20, L15, R15, B15, T4, U4 with 4 1-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 102.5, HC 2; 3,494 lbs., $4,989.
With 24 rockets the Katyusha lives up to its WW2 namesake. This Second Soviet Union import has good armor for a division-5 compact, but the rockets are not linked. It will take a superior, and patient, driver with gunnery skills to match to enter the winner’s circle with this vehicle.

Ace Vehicles Unlimited Rippler
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 5 linked AP MNRs left & right, AP MNR front and rear, 2 linked HRs on small rocket platform. Armor: F11, L16, R16, B11, T4, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 107.5, HC 3; 3,228 lbs., $4,989.
Introduced in 2050, Ace designed this vehicle after Amex premiered its Fusillade compact the previous year. The broadsides are nearly identical, but the Rippler has the addition of a rocket platform.

Nevada Systems Obsidian
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MFR front, incendiary MR left and right, 2 linked AP HRs on small rocket platform. Armor: F12, L15, L15, B12, T4, U5 with 2 2-point wheelguards and 2 2-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 3; 3,320 lbs., $4,979.
For its first close combat subcompact Nevada Systems chose to arm the Obsidian with rockets. It has two rocket volleys capable of breaching typical division-5 armor. For finishing off a damaged foe the vehicle has two incendiary rockets, perfect for making vehicular interiors feel like saunas.

Houston Metal Fabricators Cut Across
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/9 rounds incendiary ammo front, incendiary HR left, MFR right. Armor: F14, L12, R12, B12, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 3; 3,112 lbs., $4,989.
On the left you have a hot-top heavy rocket. On the right there's a MFR pod. What those two rockets can't finish the micro-missile launcher can handle. This was HMF's first foray in division-5 cars.

Conquistador Macana
Compact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver. AP HR front, left, and right. JD rear, 6 incendiary MNRs on small rocket platform. Armor: F18, L15, R15, B15, T5, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 102.5, HC 3; 3,453 lbs., $4,999. * with four incendiary LRs instead of 6 MNRs -30 lbs.
MFR option - remove HRs and JD. Add MFR left and right. Top speed 105; 3,328 lbs., $4,949.
MR option - remove HRs and JD. Add linked pair of AP MRs left and right. Top speed 107.5; 3,228 lbs., $4,989.
HR Nose option - remove JD. Side HRs to MRs. Add additional AP HR front and link it. Top speed 105; 3,328 lbs., $4,979.
The goal of this team-support vehicle is to inflict heavy damage on its opponents. Incendiary-armed mini-rockets serve the duel purpose of finishing off crippled armor and start fires in car interiors. Considering that power plants are often hit when side armor is breached, drivers take the threat of incendiary mini-rockets seriously.

Houston Metal Fabricators Stonefall
Pickup, light chassis, standard suspension, medium power plant w/platinum catalysis, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked pairs of HRs front, MFR front, JD rear. Armor: F16, L11, R11, B11, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 1; 4,401 lbs., $4,952.
HMF is distinguished for currently having the only division-5 pickup design in production (albeit in small numbers). This vehicle is aimed at those drivers that want  a pickup, regardless of the division.

Tate Manufacturing Barrage
Sedan, light chassis, standard suspension, medium power plant, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, 3 linked HRs front, linked pair of HRs left and right, linked pair of HRs rear, 10 points of component armor for driver. Armor: F12, L12, R12, B12, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 1; 4,156 lbs., $4,982.
This Tate vehicle has the most destructive rocket armament in division-5. Due to the volume of the sedan body, all the rockets are under the protection of vehicular armor. Like the Katyusha, it will take a superior driver to get the Barrage into point-blank range to deliver its load of rockets.

Flame on!

Amex Pyro Gyro
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, LFT w/HT fuel left, incendiary MR right, incendiary MR front, JD rear, airdam. Armor: F11, L15, R11, B11, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 107.5, HC 3/4@60+; 3,240 lbs., $4,920.
Fireproof armor, like solid tires, is almost unknown in division-5. Keep your distance from this Amex design unless you want your car to imitate the inside of an oven.

Amex Pyro Gyro Junior
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, LFT w/HT fuel left, incendiary MR front, spoiler, airdam. Armor: F13, L18, R13, B13, T3, U5 with 4 5-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3/4@60+; 2,685 lbs., $4,995.
This subcompact has one less rocket than its big brother, but it has the benefit of wheelguards.

Hudson Manufacturing Red Rash
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, LFT w/8 rounds of HT fuel left and right. Armor: F18(ram), L12, R12, B12, T4, U5 with 4 1-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,758 lbs., $4,990.
After being rammed and flamed by this car you'll agree that the name Red Rash is appropriate. Get in close to this vehicle only if you can take the heat.

Nevada Systems Tinderbox
Compact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked LFTs left w/9 rounds each, FCGS rear. Armor: F11, L16, R11, B11, T4, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 3; 3,368 lbs., $4,987.
Adding its own fuel to the super-heated furnace of flame-based division-5 cars is Nevada Systems. Their vehicle, called the Tinderbox, can apply a double-dose of flame from the left and smother a foe at a distance with a flame cloud gas streamer.

Amex Combat Autoworks Baker
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 PR tires, driver, FT w/HT fuel rear. Armor: F6, L7, R7, B11, T3, U3 with 4 5-point WGs. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,640 lbs., $4,707.
Heavy armor upgrade - add PC to power plant. Add 17 points of armor. 2,725 lbs., $4,994.
LFT version - Remove FT, 8 points WG armor, tires to HD. Add PC to power plant and two linked LFTs w/HT fuel. Add 17 points of armor. 2,718 lbs., $4,964.
With the high-temperature fuel and the burn modifier that goes with it the Baker can put the hurt on other duelists. The armor is thin, however, on this car. Amex introduced the heavy armor upgrade in 2045 after getting reports that most Baker owners had already modified their vehicles this way.

Australian Motor Group Brushfire
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, FT right, 2 linked incendiary MRs front w/bumper trigger, bumper spikes front. Armor: F16, L13, R21, B13, T4, U6 with 2 2-point wheelguards and 2 2-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 3; 3,310 lbs., $4,824.
Be careful with this one, for it can easily live up to its name. Even the arena surface can be burned away by the Brushfire's weapons. Like all flame-based vehicles, keep out of range of its weapons and hit it from afar.

Amex Combat Autoworks Baker 2
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, FT w/HT fuel left, 9 points component armor each for FT and driver. Armor: F13, L20, R13, B13, T4, U4 with 4 1-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 3; 3,325 lbs., $4,911.
A more heavily armored version of the Baker, including component armor for the driver and flamethrower.

Conquistador Twin Tabasco
Compact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, FT left and right. Armor: F12, L16, R16, B12, T4, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 97.5, HC 3; 3,700 lbs., $4,745.
Forgoing high-temperature fuel but employing two flamethrowers gives the Twin Tabasco more area coverage. The Twin Tabasco is another rare division-5 compact that has a standard chassis.

Samson Fire Hose
Compact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, HDFT right, JD rear. Armor: F12, L12, R16, B12, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 100, HC 3; 3,545 lbs., $4,980.
    LFT version - replace HDFT with three linked LFTs. Armor: F13, L13, R20, B13, T5, U6. Top speed 97.5; 3,695 lbs., $4,960.
A heavy weapon, yes, but the fire modifier can't be ignored. Even without high temperature fuel the Fire Hose can lick through even the modest amount of metal armor found in this division. The light flamethrower variant can pour on the fire mods, so it's best to keep out the weapons' short reach.

Amex Combat Autoworks Kitchen Heat
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG w/incendiary ammo front, incendiary MR front, incendiary MR on mini rocket platform. Armor: F20, L15, R15, B15, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,520 lbs., $4,777.
MML variant - replace LMG w/MML armed with incendiary rounds. Remove two points of armor. $4,405.
MML HR version - as above, but change PC to SC and chassis to x-heavy. Remove six more points of armor. Change MRs to incendiary HRs. Armor: F18, L13, R13, B13, T3, U4. 2,640 lbs., $4,879.
MML Ram version - As MML version, but add ramplate and high torque motors. Armor: F18(ram), L12, R12, B12, T3, U3. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 90/67.5 with HTMs; 2,515 lbs., $4,992.
The Kitchen Heat is a Rocket Miser with a pyromaniac bent. If the rockets don't do it, then a steady stream of bullets will eventually set you on fire.

Excaliber Fire Stone (a.k.a. Spitfire II)
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, RL w/incendiary rounds front. Armor: F20, L14, R14, B14, T4, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,520 lbs., $4,692.
Stone Wall version - tires to HD, remove three points of non-front armor. Add ramplate and high torque motors. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, Top speed 90/67.5 with HTMs; 2,515 lbs., $4,989.
An update to the Spitfire. The PR tires make up for the lack of wheelguards. The ram version is for those that like to crumple the armor first and then shoot a hot rocket into an opponent's guts.

Excaliber Fire Bolt
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, MML w/incendiary rounds front. Sloped armor: F23, L15, R15, B15, T3, U3 w/4 5-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,520 lbs., $4,491.
Maneuver version - chassis to x-heavy, PC to SC, tires to HD. Add spoiler, airdam. HC 3/4@60+; 2,580 lbs., $4,941.
Ram Bolt version - Tires to HD. Add ramplate and high torque motors. Armor: F22(ram), L14, R14, B15, T3, U3. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 90/67.5 with HTM. $4,855.
The MML version of the Fire Stone. A drop in firepower is made up with sloped armor and wheelguards. The Ram Bolt has a strong ramplate for a car in division-5, so treat it with respect when facing it.

Amex Combat Autoworks Sidefire
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/incendiary ammo left and right. Armor: F14, L20, R20, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,510 lbs., $4,936.
With its normal weapons placement, a Sidefire driver would keep parallel to his target, minimizing targeting modifiers due to speed. More often than not the MMLs are moved to the front and linked, allowing the Sidefire to operate in a more conventional manner.

Autoligne Hot Head
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/incendiary ammo front, 2 linked incendiary MRs front, bumper trigger front for MRs, bumper spikes front, JD rear. Armor: F17, L12, R12, B12, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 3; 3,141 lbs., $4,988.
Autoligne, known for its trailers, came up with this design for their sponsored dueling team. It can hurt more heavily-armored subcompacts in a low-speed ram, damaging them with bumper spikes and the incendiary MRs.

Autoligne Hot Head Junior
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/incendiary ammo front, 2 linked incendiary LRs front w/bumper trigger, bumper spikes front, SWC for MML, high torque motors. Armor: F17, L13, R13, B14, T4, U5. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 90/67.5 with HTMs, HC 4; 2,400 lbs., $4,981.
A scaled-down version of the Hot Head. Thanks to its initial low price, a single weapon computer and high torque motors were fitted. One good low-speed ram is often enough to take out an opponent with this vehicle's weapons.

Budget Autoworks Box Oven
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/incendiary ammo front, LFT w/HT fuel left. Armor: F16, L16, R12, B12, T4, U4 with 2 3-point wheelguards (rear) and 2 3-point wheelhubs (front). Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,633 lbs., $4,924.
A well-armored car with wheel protection to boot, the Box Oven can dish out the heat and take it too.

Pantheon Motors Lucifer
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/AP ammo front, 3 linked incendiary LRs left and right. Armor: F14, L11, R11, B12, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 2; 2,996 lbs, $4,998.
Demon Variant - remove LRs. Add 9 AP MNRs (4 linked left and right, 1 rear). Top speed 115; 2,951 lbs., $4,873. (with incendiary MML ammo 2,986 lbs., $4,923)
Lite Demon Version - as above, but change power plant to small w/PC & SC, suspension to heavy, and add two points of component armor for driver. Top speed 90, HC 3; 2,759 lbs., $4,943.
Speed Demon Variant - as Demon version, but make MML ammo normal and remove two points of armor. Add platinum catalysts to power plant. Accel. 10, top speed 120; 2,939 lbs., $4,947.
Hades Variant - remove LRs. Add three linked incendiary MRs (left, right, or rear). MML ammo to incendiary. 3,031 lbs., $4,888.
Hell Variant - remove LRs and make MML ammo normal. Add incendiary HR left, right, and front. Top speed 107.5; 3,221 lbs., $4,998.
Flame Tongue Variant - remove LRs. Add FT (left, right, or rear) w/5 rounds HT fuel, 5 points CA for driver. MML ammo to incendiary. Top speed 105; 3,314 lbs., $4,998.
Forked Tongue Variant - remove LRs and three points of armor. Add two linked LFTs (left, right, or rear). Add three points of CA for driver. Top speed 105; 3,325 lbs., $4,939.
Flame Tail Variant - remove 4 LRs and links. Add FCGS rear. 2,996 lbs., $4,998.
Flame Stone Variant - remove LRs and make MML ammo normal. Add MD rear w/napalm mines, add 10 points of CA for driver. 3,011 lbs., $4,998.
Flame Spike Variant - remove LRs. Add SD rear. SD w/5 rounds incendiary ammo left and right. All SDs linked. Top speed 115; 2,946 lbs., $4,998.
Flash Spike Variant - as Flame Spike, but make the MML ammo normal and remove five SD loads from the rear SD. Add platinum catalysts to power plant. Accel. 10, top speed 120; 2,921 lbs., $4,998.
Lite Spike Version - as Flame Spike, but change power plant to small with PC & SC. Suspenion to heavy. Remove five SD loads from rear SD. Add five points of CA for driver. Top speed 90, HC 3; 2,741 lbs., $4,998.
No arena should be without a devil, and Pantheon Motors delivers with this one. The Lucifer strives to set you on fire with two broadsides of hot rockets and trash your armor with a micro missile launcher full of armor piercing ammo. Put the moves on this one and don't allow it a point blank shot on your sides. The Demon is for those that prefer to rip apart a foe first and then finish them off with a rocket in the gut. For a more intense burn even against metal armor go with the Hades and Hell variants. The Flame Tongue and Twin Fang are for those that love the sound of active flamethrowers, and the Flame Tail spreads the hurt all over with a flame cloud gas streamer. As a final touch, both the Flame Stone and Flame Spike deliver an unforgettable hotfoot.

Laser Factory Fire Support
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 4 linked incendiary LRs front. 4 linked incendiary LRs on small rocket platform, JD rear, 5 points CA for driver. Armor: F16, L16, R16, B16, T5, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 3; 3,305 lbs., $4,995.
Fire Base version - remove front LRs, three points of non-front armor and two loads of JD ammo. Add two linked AP HRs front w/bumper trigger, add bumper spikes front. 3,327 lbs., $4,971.
With the potential fire mods in its two salvos of rockets the Fire Support can be assured of putting one opponent down for the count. Most often this car is used in team events, but it can certainly hold its own in an arena.

Laser Factory Primary Burn
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, 4 linked incendiary LRs front w/bumper trigger, 2 linked incendiary LRs on mini rocket platform, high torque motors. Armor: F24(ram), L13, R13, B13, T5, U7. Accel 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 90/67.5 with HTMs, HC 4; 2,520 lbs., $4,746.
A hit with all the rockets will set any car on fire, provided there's no fireproof armor. Still, such fancy armor is vulnerable to rams like normal armor, and the Primary Burn has the ramplate and acceleration to make ram attacks work.

Budget Autoworks Turn and Burn
Compact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 4 linked incendiary LRs front w/bumper trigger, 2 linked LFTs left w/8 rounds each, bumper spikes front. Armor: F15, L13, R11, B11, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 3; 3,380 lbs., $4,996.
This vehicle's strategy is to close within point-blank range, flob the rockets at its foe, then turn to bring the light flame throwers into the fray. With the resulting accumulated fire mods the afflicted vehicle will go down for the count.

Get the lead out!

Penny Pincher
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, JD rear, 10 point of component armor for driver. Sloped armor: F9, L7, R7, B7, T1, U2. Accel. 10, top speed 120, HC 2; 2,798 lbs., $3,612.
This famous division-5 compact was designed by New Omaha duelist Fred 'The Undead' Acheson. A unique design even before electrical engine upgrades, the Penny Pincher was noted for its 10 acceleration. Component armor and sloped armor went a long way to enhance this car's survivability. In 2039 Acheson upgraded to the Penny Pincher II.

Amex Penny Pincher II
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, MML front, JD rear linked to MML. Armor: F18, L14, R14, B14, T3, U5 with 4 5-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,520 lbs., $4,298.
IIA version - Chassis to x-heavy, PC to SC. Add mini rocket platform w/MR, 4 points of armor. 2,640 lbs., $4,857.
IIB version - Tires to HD, remove one point of non-front armor. Add ramplate and high torque motors. Add bumper trigger front for MML. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, Top speed 90/67.5 with HTM. $4,623.
IIC version - Tires to HD, chassis to x-heavy and PC to SC. Add spoiler and airdam. HC 3/4@60+; 2,580 lbs., $4,748.
In 2039 Amex approached duelist Fred Acheson and asked him to design and endorse a new subcompact bearing the Penny Pincher name. This car was the result. Good armor, tires, and wheelguards allow the driver to stay in the thick of the action.

Amex Penny Pincher III
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG front, MFR front, JD rear. Armor: F26, L15, R15, B20, T5, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 107.5, HC 2; 3,251 lbs., $4,988.
Option 1: Remove MFR. Add two linked MRs front, 10 points of armor. 3,261 lbs., $4,998.
Option 2 : Remove MFR. Add two linked MRs front w/bumper trigger. Add bumper spikes front. 3,231 lbs., $4,983.
Option 3 : Replace MFR with two linked HRs. Top speed 105; 3,301 lbs.
Amex created the last edition of the Penny Pincher line in 2041. Gone are the wheelguards but the decisive punch of an MFR (or two linked MRs) was added.

Crane Industries Wrath of Cannon
Compact, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 standard tires, driver, ATG front. Sloped armor: F19, L12, R12, B12, T2, U2. Accel. 5, top speed 107.5, HC 1; 3,324 lbs., $4,864
Another 'eggshell armed with a sledgehammer'. Low handling and standard tires demand an expert driver. Sloped armor helps make the WoC a little bit harder to hit. There's enough money left to make five rounds as HEAT or HESH.

Laser Factory 2051 Ember-5
Subcompact, standard chassis, light suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, LL front. Sloped armor: F15, L12, R12, B12, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 2; 2,300 lbs., $4,902.
The accuracy of the light laser makes up for the lower handling. It has less armor than its near twin, the Sabre Motors Lo-Beam, but it has better tires.

Fnord Motors Foil Wrapper
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG front, 10 points of component armor for driver. Metal/plastic armor: F7/11, L5/8, R5/8, B5/8, T0/3, U0/4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,760 lbs., $4,717.
MR option - remove CA and two points of plastic armor. Add MR front. $4,735.
Point for point, metal armor costs less than the equivalent weight of plastic armor. Fnord took that fact to heart when it built the Foil Wrapper. It has enough metal armor to stop the average machine gun round, and the underlying layer of plastic armor helps to contain heavier shots. Aside from a duelist-customized job, the Foil Wrapper's only weakness is its tires.

Radius Motors Snubnose II
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front. Sloped metal/plastic armor: F7/14, L5/12, R5/12, B5/12, T0/2, U0/3. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,760 lbs., $4,581.
A division-5 version of the original Snubnose, this Radius vehicle is similar to the Fnord Foil Wrapper. Whereas Fnord opted for component armor, Radius decided that such armor won't matter if you're harder to hit. More regular armor was added instead, and a MML takes the place of the LMG. This vehicle is also less expensive than its Fnord near-twin, allowing the driver to bring in more personal gear, such as grenades and body armor.

Republic Motors Tinclad
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MG front, 10 points of component armor each for driver, power plant, and MG. Metal/plastic armor: F7/0, L5/0, R5/0, B5/0, T0/1, U0/1. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 3; 3,322 lbs., $4,911.
    MML variant - replace MG with MML (AP ammo). Metal/plastic armor: F7/4, L5/3, R5/3, B5/3,  T0/1, U0/1. 3,325 lbs., $4,630.
The Republic Tinclad has the same amount of metal armor as the Fnord Foil Wrapper. Component armor compensates for the utter lack of regular plastic armor.

Jontue Motors Vicious
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, VMG front. Armor: F10, L8, R8, B8, T2, U2 with 4 2-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,482 lbs., $4,998.
The VMG, with its accuracy and punch, can't be knocked in division-5. The Vicious, like the Ember-5, has a near twin in the form of the Sprocket. The larger car does have more armor (sloped even) and component armor for the driver, but that's all the good you can say about it. The Vicious, on the other hand, has better handling and heavy-duty tires.

Jontue Motors Vicious 2
Subcompact, heavy chassis, light suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, VMG front, high torque motors. Armor: F15, L9, R9, B9, T3, U3. Accel. 5/10 w/HTMs, top speed 90/67.5 w/HTMs, HC 2; 2,520 lbs., $4,978.
Maneuver version - remove high torque motors. Suspension to improved, tires to HD. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,500 lbs., $4,978.
    Armor version - remove high torque motors. Chassis to extra-heavy. PC replaced with SC. Armor: F17, L11, R11, B12, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 2,575 lbs., $4,999.
To improve the overall effectiveness of the Vicious, Jontue Motors released an updated design in 2051. The first version incorporated high torque motors, enabling the driver to engage opponents more quickly. For those wanting better handling a maneuver version was offered, while the third one featured more armor.

Delta Automotive Lancer
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver VMG w/10 rounds front. Armor: F16, L12, R12, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,520 lbs., $4,932.
An interesting counter design to the Vicious. Observing that relatively few division-5 combats last long enough for all the participants to exhaust their ammo, Delta Automotive built the Lancer with only ten rounds for the gun. It also has better armor than the Jontue design, so it can handle even occasional high-density VMG rounds used by Vicious drivers.

Amex Combat Autoworks HMG SX
Subcompact, heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, HMG front, 5 points of component armor for driver. Armor: F17, L12, R12, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,495 lbs., $4,993.
Few duelists go into combat with the SX's stock ammo loadout. A half-load of high-density ammunition, making the damage potential of the HMG the same as a RL or RR, is the typical combat load.

Magnum Motors Fire Ant
Subcompact, heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, HMG w/12 rounds incendiary ammo front, AP MR front. Armor: F17, L13, R13, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,515 lbs., $4,975.
You'll prefer having real fire ants chewing up your car's interior instead of what this Magnum design has to offer. A medium rocket starts the process and the incendiary machinegun ammo makes the finishing touches.

Excalibur Marquis de Sade 2
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, MG w/HD ammo front. AP MNR left, right, and rear. Bumper spikes front. Armor: F18, L14, R14, B16, T5, U7. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,515 lbs., $4,994.
When you want to make an opponent know he's been nudged go with the MDS2. The high-density ammo will insure you'll do more than just ruin your foe's paint job. An ensemble of three mini-rockets can take advantage of any armor breach that comes your way.

Linden Motors Accurate
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MG front linked to SD rear, SWC. Armor: F16, L11, R11, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,385 lbs. $4,810.
For those that need that little extra to hit go with this Linden design. Getting the single weapon computer, however, has its price. The nearly-identical Amex LMG LX has no computer, but twice the armor.

Imperial Motors Bullet Burner
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked LMGs w/12 rounds of incendiary ammo each front. Armor: F18, L13, R13, B15, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,400 lbs., $4,996.
The goal of a Bullet Burner driver is simple: get in close and score consecutive hits with the light machine guns. The accumulative effects of the incendiary ammo's burn modifier will ensure at least one car will go under the guns of this vehicle.

Amex LMG GL
Subcompact, heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked LMGs front. Armor: F16, L11, R11, B12, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,400, $4,838.
With 20 rounds of ammo for each gun a GL driver can afford to fire at targets of opportunity on a regular basis. This was the replacement for the Iguana I.

Amex LMG LX
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG front linked to SD rear. Armor: F32, L25, R25, B28, T5, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,635 lbs., $4,970.
With armor values that equal some division-10 and 15 cars the LMG LX can take quite a few lumps in the arena. Customizers typically retrofit small wheelguards and armored hubs for additional protection.

Galleria Conveyance
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 steel belted HD tires, driver, LMG front. Cargo capacity: 1 space, 100 lbs. F22, L14, R14, B17, T4, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5/90 fully loaded, HC 4; 2,420 lbs., $4,186.
With regular HD tires, reduce the price by $200 and weight by 80 lbs. To upgrade to PR tires, add $200 and reduce the weight by 40 lbs.
JD version: Tires to regular PR. Add JD rear. 2,505 lbs., $4,436.
Designed as a city car, the Conveyance has made appearances in the arena from time to time. The extra weight and space lend themselves for customization jobs. The junk dropper version is the 'combat' model marketed by Galleria.

Macmillan Motors Light Brigade
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG front, LFT rear, pair of linked LRs left and right. Armor: F15, L11, R11, B11, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 2; 3,176 lbs., $4,998.
MR option - Change LRs pairs to single MRs. $4,878.
Light Hot variant - Remove two LRs and links. LFT now armed with six rounds of HT fuel. Add four points of CA for driver. 3,139 lbs. $4,998.
Light Fire variant - Remove one point of armor. Change LMG to MML w/incendiary ammo. Replace LRs with two incendiary MRs. Top speed 107.5; 3,230 lbs., $4,995.
Light weapons, anyone? This import uses a mix of weapons to make the most impact on its opponents. Though filled with regular fuel, the light flame thrower can make the difference between a hammered opponent and a charred broiled one.

Death Knight Industries Driller
Subcompact, heavy chassis, light suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 standard tires, driver, LMG w/incendiary ammo F, SD w/catalytic spikes B. Armor: F29, L19, R19, B24, T7, U7. Accel. 5, top speed 95, HC 2; 2,520 lbs, $4,805.
This vehicle is designed to operate with the DKI Oil Burner, providing support with its flexible weapons package. The Driller's most obvious weak point is its tires.

Death Knight Industries Rocket Puncher
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, light suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front. Armor: F38, L28, R28, B33, T6, U7. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 2,760 lbs, $4,740.
Improved Suspension version - remove 4 points of armor, suspension to improved. HC 3; 2,740 lbs., $4,996.
The Rocket Puncher is the heavyweight of the DKI Division-5 line. It is the most heavily-armored division-5 vehicle in production today. An expert driver can compensate for the low handling.

Ital Works Volley Fire
Subcompact, heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked MMLs (five rounds normal and five rounds armor-piercing ammo each) front, 3 linked AP MNRs on mini-rocket platform. Armor: F15, L12, R12, B12, T4, U5 with 2 3-point wheelguards (rear) and 2 3-point wheelhubs (front). Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,518 lbs, $4,980.
All AP option - Change MNRs to single AP MR. Remaining MML ammo to AP. 2,508 lbs., $4,965.
Ital engineers have sqeezed their collective pennies on this design. Drivers typically alternate the MML ammo between normal and AP, though some make the first five rounds AP and trust their aim to see them through.  The choice of rockets for the platform is unusual. Expensive, true, but it can deliver the equilvant of a heavy rocket to its target, and it still does more damage than an AP MR. For those wanting all their MML ammo made armor-piercing go with the AP option.

Fnord Motors Protection Racket
Mid-size, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/AP ammo front, JD rear, 10 points of component armor each for driver, power plant, and MML. Sloped armor: F15, L11, R11, B13, T4, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 102.5, HC 2; 3,480 lbs., $4,986.
RL version - remove armor sloping. Change MML to RL and adjust former MML's component armor. Add 10 points of component armor for JD. Armor: F10, L9, R9, B10, T1, U2. 3,493 lbs.
For those drivers that want to drive a 'big' car in division-5 but dislike the price and weight of armor should consider this design. Component armor throughout has increased the protection level by 50%. Though larger than most, the Protection Racket is but an overblown subcompact in all aspects.

Atlantic Industries Wind Spirit
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, flaming oil discharger left and right, 10 points CA for driver. Sloped armor: F15, L11, R11, B12, T3, U3. Accel. 10, top speed 120, HC 3; 2,940 lbs., $4,957.
LMG variant - remove RL and dischargers. Add LMG front and GS (paint) rear. Add five points of armor. 2,930 lbs., $4,928.
It may not be as well-armored as the Atlantic Motors Tick, but the Wind Spirit has a heavier weapon and sloped armor. This vehicle actually saved money by going with platinum catalysts instead of high torque motors.

Grenadier Jackalope
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, MR on mini-rocket platform, MR on REWP left linked to MR on REWP right. Armor: F15, L11, R11, B12, T3, U3. Accel. 10, top speed 107.5, HC 3; 2,760 lbs., $4,900.
Asphalt Jackalope version- remove REWPs. Remaining MR to AP HR. Add spoiler and airdam. Add 10 points of armor. Top speed 122.5, HC 3/4 @ 60+; 2,710 lbs., $4,890.
Hot Asphalt variant - as above, but change HR to incendiary. Top speed 120; 2,760 lbs., $4,990.
Like the Wind Spirit above, the Jackalope was designed as an alternative to high torque motors. Without the delay required to engage and disengage HTMs, a Jackalope driver can speed up to where the action is and deliver his payload of rockets. The Asphalt version trades in two rockets for better high-speed performance, but it gets more armor and the remaining rocket is tougher as well.

Atlantic Motors Tick
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 PR tires, driver, MML front. Armor: F34, L21, R21, B21, T6, U6. Accel. 10, top speed 122.5, HC 4; 2,720 lbs., $4,999.
Thunder Tickoption - Tires to HD. Add high torque motors. Accel. 10/15 with HTMs, top speed 122.5/92.5 with HTMs. 2,680 lbs.
Another model made before the introduction of electric engine upgrades, the Tick still sees arena service. It's among the fastest electric division-5 subcompacts on this list and one of the more heavily armored. Some Ticks have been retrofitted by their owners with high torque motors. Such vehicles have been nicknamed Thunder Ticks.

Amex Combat Autoworks Iguana III
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, RR front. Armor: F16, L10, R10, B10, T3, U5 with 4 3-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,518 lbs., $4,834.*
Horned Iguanaversion - Tires to HD. Add ramplate. $4,962.
    * Removing one point of armor will allow the RR ammo to be changed to HESH or HEAT. 2,513 lbs., $4,998.
The replacement for the Iguana II. Strong tires and wheelguards help when it comes to grenade-intensive environments. Though not able to accelerate like the other ram cars in this division, the Horned Iguana can still hurt any car that gets in its way.

Acme Motors Shell
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RR front, 5 points CA for driver. Sloped armor: F15, L11, R11, B11, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,004 lbs., $4,993.
Acme, under license, has made this vehicle using the same body design as the Sprocket. Only in combat will other duelists know that it's armed with a recoilless rifle and has better handling.

Delta Automotive Blowback
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RR front, DSP under, JD rear. Armor: F15, L12, R12, B11, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 2; 3,183 lbs., $4,974.
RL version - Replace RR with RL. Upgrade suspension to heavy. Top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,083 lbs., $4,674.
RL Smart Spikesoption - as above, but upgrade DSP to remote control. $4,874.
RL Sparks option - as RL version, but make RL ammo incendiary. Top speed 110; 3,143 lbs., $4,924.
RL 10 version - Replace RR with RL. Remove one point of armor. Add SC to power plant. Accel. 10, top speed 120; 3,077 lbs., $4,961.
A standard direct-fire division-5 vehicle with the distinction of carrying a dropped spike plate. The ubiquitous junk dropper is provided for additional rear defense.

Rothschild Motor Works Puncture
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 PR tires, driver, FG front, SD w/catalytic spikes rear linked to FG. Armor: F17, L14, R14, B17, T6, U8 with 4 4-point wheelguards. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,519 lbs., $4,946.
Dedicated to destroying tires, the Puncture is well-suited to that task. A fully-loaded flechette gun and catalytic spikes enable the driver to litter the arena floor with shredded and dissolved tires. The Puncture itself is well protected and has good tires for a division-5 car. Aggressive action against this car will ensure that the driver will concentrate on survival rather than going on a tire safari.

Indra Motors Pin Cushion
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked FGs front (each with 10 rounds of ammo), JD left linked to JD right-rear corner mounted. Armor: F16, L12, R12, B13, T4, U7 with 4 1-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 107.5, HC 3; 3,210 lbs., $4,992.
A compact version of the Needle. What it gave up in terms of upgrade potentional and its own tire protection the Pin Cushion gained two tire-damaging junk droppers. It also has more regular armor than the Needle, something to consider when everyone else in the arena is gunning for you.

Killer Kart '46
Subcompact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG front, 10 points of CA for driver. Armor: F14, L12, R12, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 4; 2,300 lbs., $3,660.
MR option - remove two points of non-front armor and component armor. Add MR front. Add $18 to vehicle price.
Platform version - chassis to heavy. Add mini rocket platform w/MR. Top speed 90, 2,400 lbs., $4,025.

In 2045 many arenas were experiencing decreasing turnouts for amateur night events. The reason why was the high mortality rate. Armor on the original Killer Kart could, at best, stop two bursts of machine gun fire. It was common that the second round would hit the driver instead, and body armor often wasn't enough help. Seeking a way to both decrease the death rate and increase amateur night participation a group of arena managers decided a new vehicle was needed. The Killer Kart '46 has far more armor than the original, and the use of component armor has raised driver survival rates by several orders of magnitude. Indeed, it is generally accepted that amateur night drivers that lost more than half of their component armor are considered kills. A driver is not obligated to accept this, however, and can continue if they communicate that intention to arena officials.
The '46 was built by many automotive companies and local manufacturers, and 80% of all Karts are of the basic and MR models. The remaining 20% were constructed with heavy chassis and sold to duelists who like to own and customize their own Karts. Most common of the customized designs are listed above. Duelist Lynda Pond of Idaho, however, has made a name in division-5 dueling using a '46 upgraded with only a single weapon computer for the light machine gun. With a submachine gun, body armor, and a brace of grenades to round out her equipment Pond has won more often than not in the arena.

Jontue Motors Arena Dancer
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked MMLs front, spoiler. Armor: F22, L15, R15, B18, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4/5 @ 60+; 2,500 lbs., $4,983.
Thanks to its spoiler, the Arena Dancer can literally dance around its foes to get in its shots. It was the first mass-produced dueling subcompact to be initially equipped with a spoiler.

Jontue Motors Arena Dancer 2
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/AP ammo front, high torque motors, smoke discharger rear. Spoiler, airdam. Armor: F15, L12, R12, B12, T3, U4. Accel. 10/15 with HTM, top speed 127.5/95 with HTM, HC 4/5@60+; 2,530 lbs., $4,988.
An update to the first Arena Dancer. Now with an airdam, medium power plant, and high torque motors the AD2 can outperform most division-5 cars. With only one MML the driver must take care when shooting.

Ital Works Pirouette
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, high torque motors, spoiler, airdam. Armor: F19, L13, R13, B16, T5, U6. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 90/67.5 w/HTMs, HC 4/5 @ 60+; 2,520 lbs., $4,992.
In terms of maneuverability the Pirouette has few equals in division-5. It can't accelerate as fast nor does it have the top speed of the Arena Dancer 2, but the Pirouette does have the better armor and firepower.

Freeway Doppler Alert
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG front, high torque motors, spoiler, airdam, streamlining. Armor: F22, L12, R12, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5/10 w/HTMs, top speed 100/75 w/HTMs, HC 4/5 @ 60+; 2,400 lbs., $4,998.
Due to this vehicle’s maneuverability, Freeway named it the Doppler Alert. Watching it make sudden turns at high speed will remind one of the rapid winds found in thunderstorms and tornadoes.

Australian Motor Group Bandicoot
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, JD rear, spoiler. Sloped armor: F16, L12, R12, B14, T5, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 110, HC 3/4 @ 60+; 3,135 lbs., $4,975.
A simple yet robust design, an experienced driver can take the Bandicoot to victory. Not as nimble as the Pirouette, the Bandicoot has the advantage of sloped armor and a dropped weapon.

Pints in Quart Bottles

Death Knight Industries Tire Deflation

A dedicated tire-shredding machine. Drivers often switch the loads of the spike droppers to keep opponents guessing. Changing to partial loads of incendiary, explosive, and even crystal spikes is also a possibility.

Pantheon Motors River Styx
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, SD left linked to SD right-rear corner, OJ w/10 loads pyrophoric oil rear, link - OJ to SDs, high torque motors, 3 points of CA for driver.     This car was designed for a specific purpose - sealing off critical areas of the arena with a wall of spikes and oil. To that end the River Styx was fitted with high torque motors, giving it much needed acceleration.

Mystic Motors Tire Troll
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, SD w/magazine left and right, link. Sloped armor: F12, L13, R13, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,750 lbs., $4,178.
Alternate ammo - with 32 loads of explosive or incendiary spikes. 2,710 lbs., $4,978.
Often compared to Foster's Tack Trail, this Mystic Motors design has one important difference. It can carry a large number of explosive or incendiary spikes easily. Sloped armor also adds an additonal level of protection.

Imperial Motors Black River
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, OJ left linked to OJ right. Armor: F15, L12, R12, B13, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,745 lbs., $4,950.

With the space saved by using an optioned-out small power plant the Black River gained the distinction of carrying the most standard oil jet loads in division-5. For a more spectacular fire show, go with the Cleveland River.

Conquistador Chilli Powder
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, FCE w/9 rounds rear linked to JD rear. Sloped armor: F13, L10, R10, B9, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,755 lbs., $4,975.

A mix of flame cloud and rockets complete this Conquistador compact. The Chilli Beans version can be a surprise to those unfamiliar with pyrophoric oil. The Chilli Peppers, with its incendiary spikes, can give tires a nasty hotfoot while the Chilli Corn can heat up armor with the best chilli cooking pot. The Jalapeno can melt the best tires off their rims while the Steam and Vapor makes paint and armor alike boil and blister. For those with a sensative palate try one of the two mild Chillies available.

Fnord Motors Pyroclastic Flow
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, HDFCE rear w/5 rounds linked to JD left, 7 points of CA for driver. Armor: F10, L10, R10, B13, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 2,757 lbs., $4,977.
Extra Flow variant - Remove JD, link, platinum catalysts, and three points of armor. Add HDFCE round and one point of CA for the power plant. 2,640 lbs., $4,993.
Even with a reduced load the Pyroclastic Flow can spell disaster for any vehicle that enters its deadly cloud of flame. Debris from the junk dropper can finish off tires not destroyed by the flame cloud.

Sabre Motors Fire Mark
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/AP ammo front, FOJ w/15 rounds rear. Four points of CA each for driver and power plant. Armor: F18, L13, R13, B15, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,729 lbs., $4,996.
With a flaming oil jet the Fire Mark can certainly live up to its name in the arena. Thanks to the low weight of the weapons, the Fire Mark carries a decent amount of armor.

Avtomobel Rosseyskey Siberian Trail
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked MRs front, OJ w/pyrophoric oil rear. Sloped armor: F12, L12, R12, B14, T4, U4 with 2 4-point wheelguards and 2 4-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,697 lbs., $4,990.
Sticky Foam option - replace OJ with SfS. 2,697 lbs., $4,990.
Noted for its full load of pyrophoric oil, the Siberian Trail also has a good measure of protection with its sloped armor, wheelguards and armored hubs.

Tate Manufacturing Lake of Fire
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, HDFOJ rear, 10 points of CA for driver. Sloped armor: F10, L10, R10, B12, T5, U6 with 4 2-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,640 lbs., $4,958.
Black Beads option - Tires to SB standard. Remove one point of armor. Replace HDFOJ with HDOJ loaded with eight rounds of pyrophoric oil. 2,628 lbs., $4,994.
An accurate name for what this vehicle does. The Lake of Fire can make swaths of the arena floor look like Satan's swimming pool. This vehicle has the distinction of being the lightest of the Pints in Quart Bottles.

Sabre Motors Mailed Fist
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/AP ammo front, AP MFR front, 4 points of CA for driver. Sloped armor: F15, L12, R12, B12, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,755 lbs., $4,779.
From the start you know that this car will bring at least one person down. The armor-piercing MFR can crush any armor facing it, and the MML finishes what's left inside.

Radius Motors Furnace Door
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant W/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/AP ammo front, 4 linked incendiary LRs front w/bumper trigger, 4 points component armor for driver. Sloped armor: F15, L11, R11, B13, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,749 lbs., $4,890.
Another compact designed around an optioned-out small power plant. A full hit with the light rockets can set an opponent on fire nine times out of ten. Don't let it have a point-blank shot if you can help it, unless you have metal armor.

Amex Rocket Wonder
Compact, light chassis, standard suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 standard tires, driver, VFRP front. Armor: F13, L9, R9, B9, T2, U2. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 1; 2,759 lbs, $4,992.
Rocket Wonder MML variant - replace VFRP with 3 linked MMLs front. 4 points of CA each for driver and power plant. 2,749 lbs., $4,992.
Rocket Wonder RL version - replace VFRP with RL w/AP ammo front. 4 points of CA each for driver, power plant and RL. Suspension to improved. SWC for RL. Tires to HD, add 10 points of armor. HC 2; 2,740 lbs., $4,837.
Nickel duelists have a term for cars such as the Rocket Wonder: eggshells armed with sledgehammers. With poor handling and light armor it takes an expert driver to handle and win in this Amex design. The power of a six-rocket salvo cannot be ignored, however, and a few experienced duelists have taken this car to victory, so be warned. The MML version has half the salvo but better accuracy and twice the combat endurance. Component armor also increases the vehicle's survivability. Finally, the RL version is inexpensive enough to allow the installation of a single weapon computer.

Acme Mad Missile
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 standard tires, driver, MML front, MFR left, MFR right. Armor: F11, L8, R8, B9, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,759 lbs., $4,392.
MR variant - replace MFRs with 2 pairs of linked MRs. Tires to HD. Add 10 points of armor. $4,482.
Like the Amex Rocket Wonder, this Acme vehicle squeezes a quart into a pint bottle. Due to the low costs of the weapons, the Mad Missile was fitted with a heavy suspension, unlike the Rocket Wonder. However, just like the Amex vehicle, the Mad Missile has standard tires. The MR variant has better tires and armor, a fact that explains its higher sales than the standard version.

Amex Combat Autoworks Fusillade-C
Compact, light chassis, hvy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, 5 linked AP LRs left and right. Armor: F12, L16, R16, B12, T4, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,750 lbs., $4,540.
When you want to see rockets fly go with this design. Enough money is left to buy the driver a SMG and two paint dischargers.

Magnum Motors Jawbreaker Junior
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, 3 linked AP MRs front, JD rear, high torque motors. Sloped armor: F15, L12, R12, B15, T4, U4. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 90/67.5 with HTMs, HC 3; 2,757 lbs., $4,237.
Extra Boost variant - Replace JD w/30 lbs rocket booster. Remove four points of armor. Add spoiler and airdam. HC 3/4 @ 60+; 2,758 lbs, $4,930. Add 10 acceleration when rocket booster is fired.
A scaled-back version of the original Jawbreaker, this vehicle's main difference is that it doesn't have a ramplate. What it does have is sufficient funds leftover for the driver to purchase handweapons. Accelerate, fire the rockets, and place junk in the path of your enemies. That's the way a JJ driver operates.

Australian Motor Group Razorback
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MG front. 10 points of component armor each for driver, power plant, and MG. Sloped armor: F14, L10, R10, B12, T4, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,760 lbs., $4,757.
On first look, one might be tempted to think the Razorback was a quick copy of the Fnord Protection Racket. Instead, this was a case of parallel thinking. With component and sloped armor the Razorback can take more hits than the average division-5 car. It is this vehicle, not the Killer Kart, that is used in Australian amateur night events.

Lymestwold Magician
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, remote controlled DSP under, high torque motors, 4 points CA each for driver and power plant. Sloped armor: F17, L13, R13, B13, T4, U4. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 90/67.5 with HTMs, HC 3; 2,709 lbs., $4,935.
Designed as a team vehicle, the Magician places its remote controlled dropped spike plate where it serves the team best. It's a trick that can only be done once per arena, so be certain when placing the plate.

Radius Motors Tooth Decay
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, AP MR left and right, SD w/catalytic spikes rear, 10 points of component armor for driver. Armor: F13, L10, R10, B11, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,750 lbs., $4,990.
Another quart in a pint bottle design. The introduction of catalytic spikes adds another level of uncertainty for duelists. Normal, explosive, and incendiary spikes are one thing, but spikes that keep damaging your tires until they fall apart is another. While it's a fair guess that this car would carry catalytic spikes, others have been know to carry reduced loads in their spike droppers and dispensed them in critical areas of an arena. Until someone runs over the spikes no one, aside from the duelist who dropped them, will know for sure. As for the vehicle itself, the Tooth Decay has average armor and weaponry for a division-5 car.

Rothschild Motor Works Venom
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, SD w/catalytic spikes rear, 9 points CA for driver. Sloped armor: F12, L10, R10, B10, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,759 lbs., $4,997.
In seeking the perfect balance between offensive and defensive power, Rothschild opted for a tricked-up small power plant in a compact body design. Component armor for the driver and armor sloping enhance the survivability of the vehicle, while catalytic spikes give a good reason for its name Venom.

Imperial Motors Shell Game
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front, SS rear, OJ w/5 loads of pyrophoric oil rear, link - SS to OJ, blow-through concealment for OJ, one point of CA for driver. Armor: F17, L12, R12, B15, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,743 lbs., $4,962. * with regular OJ rounds -$200
SD Variants OJ to SD/w 5 standard loads. One point of CA for MML. 2,760 lbs., $4,667.
OJ to SD/w 5 loads of explosive or incendiary spikes. One point of CA for MML. 2,760 lbs., $4,817.
OJ to SD/w 5 loads of crystal spikes. One point of CA for MML. 2,755 lbs., $4,817.
OJ to SD/w 5 loads of catalytic spikes. One point of CA for MML. 2,760 lbs., $4,867.
Wild Cloud variant OJ to PS w/10 loads. One point of CA for MML. 2,755 lbs., $4,967.
Dropped Spike Plate variant  OJ to remote-controlled DSP under. One point of CA for MML. Remove blow-through concealment. 2,750 lbs., $4,767.
Obligatory Rocket variant OJ to AP MR rear. One point of CA for MML. 2,760 lbs., $4,677.
Imperial Motors, influenced by the Lymestwold Knick Knack, decided to built its own division-5 compact with a variable weapons package. With blow-through concealment for the second dropped weapon and the smokescreen to provide cover, the Shell Game will make pursuing drivers wonder what's waiting for them under the smoke. The standard version makes effective use of pyrophoric oil, since it doesn't burn until a vehicle runs over it. Smoke last longer than most arena combats, thus hiding what it's covering, if it's covering anything at all. Spike droppers with partial loads of all types of ammo was also made available for variants. The Wild Cloud variant has proven effective since drivers often make their smoke the same color as the paint clouds. For those that want a surprize punch the rocket version is your cup of tea.

Unconventional designs

Lymestwold Knick Knack
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG front, OJ rear, SD rear linked to OJ. Armor: F14, L11, R11, B11, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 115, HC 2; 2,940 lbs., $4,935.*
FCGS option - remove OJ and SD. Add FCGS and JD rear. Link JD to LMG. Top speed 112.5, 3,065 lbs., $4,985.
FT option - remove OJ, SD, and link. Add FT rear w/8 points of CA. Top speed 105; 3,322 lbs., $4,915.
Pyro option - change SD to JD and move it to the right. OJ ammo to 10 rounds of pyrophoric oil. 2,960 lbs., $4,935. *
SfS version - LMG to MML. Remove OJ and SD. Add SfS rear w/10 rounds. Add JD left linked to SfS. 2,935 lbs., $4,935.*
Accel-10 version - LMG to MML w/AP ammo. Add PC to power plant. Accel 10, Top speed 120; 2,915 lbs. $4,935.
    * With small power plant w/PC & SC and heavy suspension +$50 and -200 lbs. One extra space. Top speed 90.
This vehicle, due to its weapon mix, couldn't be easily placed in the other categories. It has five distinct variants, mainly dealing with changing the rear weapons. One of them centers on acceleration, possible due to the low weight of the vehicle. It was cheaper changing the front weapon and giving the power plant some platinum catalysts instead of cutting a further $100 elsewere for high torque motors. As an option, Lymestwold has a version of the Knick Knack with a heavy suspension. This was achieved by changing the medium power plant to an optioned-out small one. Due to the suspension change, there are fewer weapon options on this particular version of the Knick Knack.

Kane Motors Black Spike
Mid-size, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, OJ rear, SD w/magazine left-rear corner linked to SD w/magazine right, link - OJ to SDs, 10 points of component armor for driver. Armor: F9, L10, R10, B11, T2, U2. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 2; 3,357 lbs., $4,984.
JD Rocket version - Remove one point of armor. SDs to JDs. Add small rocket platform w/2 linked MRs. OJ ammo to 15 rounds pyrophoric oil. Top speed 97.5; 3,729 lbs., $4,998.
JD Sprint version - SDs to JDs. Add high torque motors. OJ ammo to 15 rounds pyrophoric oil. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 100/75 with HTMs; 3,537 lbs., $4,968.
In any incarnation the Black Spike is trouble. A line of oil with spikes on either side forms a troublesome barrier. Since it has light armor, a Black Spike driver's best defense is speed.

Autoligne Demarcation Line
Mid-size, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, OJ w/20 rounds left linked to OJ w/20 rounds right, SD w/magazine rear linked to OJs, 10 points of component armor for driver. Armor: F10, L12, R12, B14, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 2; 3,352 lbs., $4,994.
Junket version - replace SD with JD. Add small rocket platform with 6 unlinked MNRs. Top speed 97.5; 3,672 lbs., $4,944.
Junket Spring version - replace SD with JD. Add high torque motors. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 102.5/75 with HTMs; 3,452 lbs., $4,944.
An interesting mirror opposite of the Black Spike. Whereas the Kane design has two rows of spikes the Autoligne vehicle has just one, but placed inbetween two rows of oil. The Demarcation Line has more overall armor, but its two alternate versions don't carry pyrophoric oil due to expense.

Freeway Greased Wheel
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, OJ rear w/20 rounds, LMG rear linked to OJ, DSP under linked to LMG/OJ, 8 points of CA for driver. Armor: F11, L11, R11, B18, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,749 lbs., $4,991.
This is a case of a vehicle designed for a specific purpose. A Greased Wheel driver, unlike the majority of his fellows, doesn’t mind being pursued. Laying down a swath of oil behind itself, the Greased Wheel uses its rear light machine gun to inflict hazards on pursuers that end up on the oil. For critical choke points, a dropped spike plate was installed and linked to the rear weapons.

Acme Slapdash
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MR on REWP left linked to MR on REWP right, MR front linked to REWP rockets, 2 linked MRs on small rocket platform, SD rear, GS (paint) rear. Sloped armor: F14, L12, R12, B17, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 95/105 w/o REWPs, HC 2; 3,327 lbs., $4,957.
Slapdash 2 - Chassis to standard. Remove SD and one point of armor. Add GS magazine (paint). Platform MRs to HRs. 3,381 lbs., $4,994.
Slapdash MFR variant - Remove SD and two points of armor. Add GS magazine (paint). Platform MRs to MFR. 3,325 lbs., $4,898.
Word has it that the prototype was assembled from spare parts in one of Acme's engineering bays. The Slapdash can serve either as a team support vehicle or go solo in the arena.

Avtomobel Rosseyskey Shearing Plane
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, FG w/10 rounds front, MD rear, 3 points CA for driver. Armor: F14, L11, R11, B14, T4, U5 with 2 2-point wheelguards and 2 2-point wheehubs. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 3; 3,033 lbs., $4,997.
One of a very few commercially-available dueling vehicles to come from the Second Soviet Union. The Shearing Plane can take out your tires either with high-velocity flechettes or old-fashion mine explosions.

Jontue Motors Bubblebox
Subcompact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 standard tires, driver, 2 passengers. Armor: F9, L8, R8, B7, T7, U7. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 4; 2,300 lbs., $1,956.
Heavy Chassis version - chassis to heavy. 100 lbs. extra capacity, $2,106.
A vehicle designed for city streets in the northeastern United States, the Bubblebox can occasionally be found in the arena. With armed passengers the Bubblebox can cause mayhem for the unsuspecting. The heavy chassis version was made so that the Bubblebox could serve as a light delivery vehicle in constrictive inner city neighborhoods. It also allows for the installation of a MR-equipped mini rocket platform (100 lbs., $215) as needed.

Rothschild Motor Works Iron Glove
Subcompact, heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 PR tires, driver, spoiler, airdam, high torque motors, 8 points CA for driver, streamlining. Armor: F34(ram), L11, R11, B11, T5, U6. Accel. 5/10 with HTM, top speed 107.5/80 with HTM, HC 3/4@60+; 2,457 lbs., $4,999.
Rothschild made a statement when it created this, its first division-5 subcompact design. The Iron Glove has the strongest ramplate known in division-5. With streamlining and attending spoiler and airdam the Iron Glove has a sophisticated look. No rocket platforms or weapon ports mar the bodywork. High torque motors allow for a higher acceleration without resorting to a medium power plant. This car can literally drive through the average division-5 car without stopping. Available factory paint jobs include black, red, silver, and blue.

Mystic Motors Minotaur
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 AP HRs front w/bumper trigger each, one-space EWP top w/5 points of armor and 50 lbs rocket booster, EWP ejection system. Armor: F20(ram), L12, R12, B13, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 80, HC 4; 2,605 lbs., $4,995. Add 17.5 acceleration when rocket booster is fired. 2,385 lbs and top speed 95 when EWP is ejected.
Opposite of Rothschild's deliberate style, the Minotaur makes no bones about where it gets its' acceleration. Once the rocket booster has fired, the EWP can be ejected for use as a 'one-shot' dropped weapon.

Macmillan Motors Blunt Object
Compact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, JD rear, 10 points of CA for driver, spoiler, high torque motors, streamlining. Sloped metal/plastic armor: F15/15, L0/15, R0/15, B0/15, T0/3, U0/3 with 4 1-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 115/85 with HTMs, HC 3/4 @ 60+; 3,397 lbs., $4,995.
‘Lite’ version - Chassis to light. Remove wheelhubs, one point metal and 4 points plastic armor. 3,327 lbs., $4,782.
Using its front armor as an improvised ramplate, this Macmillan design proves that even a blunt object can rend a foe apart if it's moving fast enough. The car was streamlined from the start to enhance its overall top speed, both regular and under high torque motors.

Budget Autoworks Neutronium
Subcompact, extra-heavy chassis, light suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, high torque motors, spoiler, airdam, streamlining. Sloped metal/plastic armor: F14/12(ram), L0/12, R0/12, B0/12, T0/3, U0/4. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 100/75 with HTMs, HC 2/3 @ 60+; 2,740 lbs., $4,892.
    Wheelhub option - add 4 1-point wheelhubs. 2,756 lbs., $4,932.
The engineers at Budget Autoworks saw the Macmillan Blunt Object compact and decided to go one better. Named after the densest material known, the Neutronium has the heaviest (in terms of weight) ramplate in division-5. Unless you're in a car that's faster than the Neutronium then by all means don't let it ram you. Spikes, mines, and flame clouds are your best bet against this metal armor maniac.

Kane Motors Anvil
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, high torque motors, 10 points CA for driver. Sloped armor: F50(ram), L15, R15, B15, T7, U7. Accel. 5/10 with HTMs, top speed 95/70 with HTMs, HC 4; 2,520 lbs., $4,877.
Very close in performance to the Neutronium, this Kane vehicle can plow through multiple opponents in a duel and still have front armor remaining.

Ital Works Partnership
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, gunner, RL front, spoiler, airdam. Armor: F16, L12, R12, B14, T5, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 107.5, HC 2/3@60+; 3,226 lbs., $4,978.
98 out of 100 vehicles in division-5 are operated by one crewman. This vehicle is one of the rare exceptions. With a dedicated gunner for the weapon the driver can concentrate on maneuvering the vehicle. The lower initial handling is compensated when the vehicle is at speed, allowing the spoiler/airdam combo to reduce the difficulty of maneuvers.

Freeway Pressure Pot
Subcompact, standard chassis, improved suspension, 50 cid gas engine w/TH, 4 gallon HD gas tank, 4 HD tires, driver, gunner, MML front, GS w/paint rear. Armor: F18, L14, R14, B15, T5, U7. Accel. 5, top speed 60, HC 3; 2,202 lbs., $4,633.
LMG version - remove MML and five points of armor. Add LMG front. $4,878.
With two crewmembers in a very confined space Freeway's name for this car was appropriate. A dedicated driver and gunner would be an advantage in combat, but the MML alone lacked the sustained punch needed. The LMG version corrected this to some extent.

Amex Rolling Debris
Sedan, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, gunner, MML front, JD left linked to JD right, JD rear. 10 points CA each for crew, power plant, and MML. Armor: F11, L8, R8, B8, T2, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 95, HC 2; 3,900 lbs., $4,980. Cargo capacity: 1 space, 300 lbs.
Maneuver version - remove MML. MML component armor switched to rear JD. Suspension to heavy, add spoiler. Add magazine for left and right JDs. Top speed 90, HC 3/4@60+; 4,095 lbs., $4,930.
A rare bird indeed. More so than a mid-size, a sedan in division-5 has plenty of space and weight, but the cost of its armor is a hindrance. Amex emphasized this vehicles strength by incorporating a gunner's position. Indeed, it was cheaper to have a gunner than to install another link for the junk droppers! The maneuver variant was made for those drivers that wanted more handling.
Built for use in division-5 team dueling, the Rolling Debris is definitely not for solo use. If you encounter this vehicle alone and the driver challenges you to a duel, do the gene pool a favor and remove him.

Mitsui Rolling Obstacle
Luxury, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, gunner, MML front, JD w/mag left, JD w/mag right, JD rear, 10 points CA for crew, 5 points CA for MML, 2 points CA for rear JD. Armor: F10, L8, R8, B8, T1, U1. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 4,144 lbs., $4,995. Cargo capacity: 2 spaces, 56 lbs.
Maneuver version - remove MML and its component armor. Add magazine for rear JD. Rear JD component armor is now one point. Suspension to heavy, add spoiler. Remove three points of crew CA. Add link from left JD to right JD. HC 3/4@60+; 4,200 lbs, $4,960. Cargo capacity: 3 spaces and no weight (until JD loads are dropped).
The number of division-5 luxuries doesn't even take up all the fingers of one hand. The Rolling Obstacle is an extreme version of the Amex Rolling Debris. Meant as part of a team in a divisional fight, only a fool or madman would go solo into an arena with this vehicle. With junk droppers to lay a trail of tire-shredding debris behind it, however, a Rolling Obstacle driver can turn an arena floor into a tire graveyard.

Ace Vehicles Unlimited Bucket Brigade
Luxury, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant w/SC,4 HD tires, driver. JD w/2 magazines located left, right, and back. 2 links. 10 points CA for power plant and for each JD. Armor: F12, L8, R8, B8, T5, U7. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 1; 4,615 lbs., $4,700.
Bucket Brigade 2 variant - remove 3 JD magazines and adjust JD component armor. Add gunner and 5 points CA for crew. Add small rocket platform w/MFR. Armor: F11, L8, R8, B8, T4, U6. 4,620 lbs., $4,990.
Wanting to have the final word on the junkdropper delivery debate, Ace produced this vehicle in late 2052. Deployed in sequence, the Bucket Brigade can lay a junk-strewn trail a full 675 feet, enough to criss-cross a small arena. The BB2 variants trades in junk weight for a gunner and a rocket platform.

Budget Autoworks Top Gunner
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, passenger, GS (smoke) rear, sunroof, 5 points CA each for driver and power plant. Armor: F8, L10, R10, B8, T2, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 2,681 lbs., $3,328. Cargo capacity - 1 space, 79 lbs.
One would expect that sunroofs on division 5 cars would be in wide use. That would be the case if it wasn't for flame clouds. Still, for those duelists that love hand weapons, a sunroof adds that bit of variety to a duel. With both crewmembers equipped with body armor there's almost $1,200 for handweapons. When you see a Top Gunner, expect hand-held grenade
launchers, submachine guns, and more LAWs than you can shake a stick at.

Mystic Motors Romulus
Subcompact, heavy chassis, light suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, passenger, MML front, sunroof. Armor: F15, L11, R11, B13, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 2,400 lbs., $3,438.
    Remus version - Add PC to power plant. MML to HR w/bumper trigger, add spoiler. Armor: 18(ram), L12, R12, B12, T4, U4. HC 2/3 @ 60+; 2,490 lbs., $3,454.
Mystic Motors enters the 'shoot from the roof' arena with the Romulus. By itself the vehicle can compete effectively, but with a passenger gunner it can bring fire upon anyone who gets near. The Remus version has the ramplate and heavy rocket, enough to crumple a foe by itself while the gunner takes on fresh foes.

Tate Manufacturing Top Fold

There have been off-road division-5 subcompacts prior to this design. They were either unarmed racers or custom-built combat cars. Radius changed that when it made the Weedeater. Equipped with a brushcutter to handle the occasional sapling found on off-road courses, the Weedeater earned such a following that it could be found in any off-road division-5 duel in the Americas. Radius's follow-up was the Weedeater 2.

Radius Motors Weedeater 2

It was a matter of time before a duelist would bring in a mine flinger in division-5. Team Crumple, a group of Kansas division-5 duelists, built this car in 2048. Max "Blastwell" Foster, the duelist most often at the controls of Der Flinger, scored several kills with this car. However, due to low handling and short range of the mine flinger, it's common for the car to get caught in the blast area of the mines. Because of this fact few other duelists have copied the design.

Mow Top
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 10 points of CA for driver, EWP w/MML and 10 points of armor top, EWP ejection system. Armor: F20, L15, R15, B15, T6, U6. Accel. 10, top speed 107.5/120 without EWP, HC 3; 2,750 lbs., $4,997.

This vehicle was custom built by New Omaha duelist Doug Akron back in 2037. Prior to high torque motors the only way a subcompact could get an acceleration of 10 with electrics was with a medium power plant. Seeking a way to balance acceleration and defense, Akron settled on using a MML-equipped external weapons pod. In large part the Mow Top was a success, though at times the pod proved an irresistible target for opponents. Akron even used the EWP ejection system in one duel, the resulting free-release pod became a deadly obstacle for the duelist that was on his tail at the time. In 2038 he built the slope armor version but used it in only five duels before moving up to division 15 vehicles. The MR, junk dropper, HTM and MR 2 versions were designed well after the advent of electrical engine upgrades but were never built by Akron.

Novelty Item
Subcompact, extra-heavy chassis, light suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, passenger, one-space EWP w/MML and 10 points of armor top. Sloped armor: F18, L15, R15, B15, T4, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 80, HC 2; 2,640 lbs., $4,184.
There was at least one duelist inspired to contruct his own version of the Mow Top. Duelist Troy Klien of Kentucky opted not to spend for an EWP ejection system, settling on gaining as much money for the passenger to be armed with anti-vehicular hand weapons. The passenger-gunner is typically armed with a submachine gun, a hand-held grenade launcher filled with explosive grenades, and a paint grenade.

Despicable
Subcompact, heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked VSs front, MR on mini rocket platform. Armor: F20, L17, R17, B17, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,500 lbs., $4,873.
This vehicle was also a custom job, built by Minnesota duelist Kyle Everly. A veteran division-5 duelist, Everly decided to construct a car that would demand the most of his driving and gunnery skills. In the arena, the Despicable would typically operate in vulture mode, picking off badly damaged vehicles in high speed passes. Often Everly would gun for an opponent's tires, a not so difficult task given that heavy-duty tires are widely used. If another duelist was driving a car with particularly weak armor, Everly would close in for a point-blank shot with his medium rocket, then circle back to finish the job with vehicular shotgun rounds.
Everly retired from dueling in 2043 after activating two clones due to a particularly intensive pair of duels. The first time was due to multiple hits from incendiary weapons. The second clone was activated after Everly was made the center of a metal sandwich, being rammed by two Conquistador Gladiators at the same time.

Pop Can
Subcompact, light chassis, heavy suspension, 50 cid gas engine, 4 gallon HD gas tank, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, GS (paint) rear. Sloped armor: F13, L10, R10, B11, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 60, HC 4; 2,067 lbs., $4,688.* Gas priced at $40/gallon.
Like a carbon-aluminum frame, a subcompact with a light chassis is almost unheard of in division-5 dueling. This hen's tooth example was built by duelist Roy Tully of Oklahoma. To make the maximum use of a stock 50 cid gas engine Tully had a subcompact built with a light chassis. Indeed, the greatest difficulty came when Tully had to convince the engineers that he was serious about the light chassis. The weight savings and extra space remaining due to the gas engine compensated for the chassis reduction. A 60 mph top speed is little more than half the top speed of some electric compacts in this division, but this car's handling can't be knocked.

Kitchen Sink
Sedan, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 3 linked HRs left w/10 points of CA, 3 linked HRs right w/10 points of CA, 10 points of CA each for driver and power plant, spoiler. Armor: F7, L7, R7, B7, T2, U2. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 1/2@60+; 3,928 lbs., $4,986.
Another rare division-5 sedan. This vehicle was built and used by a Seattle division-5 dueling team known as Team Avalanche. With all the heavy rockets it carried it wasn't surprising that the team called it the Kitchen Sink. Like the Amex Rocket Miser, the Kitchen Sink employed a spoiler because it was cheaper than installing an improved suspension. Extensive use of component armor enhanced the vehicle's combat endurance. As with all rocket-armed cars, the KS had to be used at close range, and a salvo of three heavy rockets was often enough to take out an opposing car. Once the rockets are gone, however, the KS would become a big, inviting target.

The Exception
Subcompact, heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant, 4 solid tires, driver, MML w/AP ammo front. Sloped armor: F15, L11, R11, B12, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,360 lbs, $4,990.
The name of the duelist who made this vehicle is unknown. What is known is that he had apparently became fed up after losing so many tires due to junk in the arena. As shown above, the most expensive item in the design are the solid tires. Immune to debris damage and taking only half-damage from regular spikes, the Exception only faced the hazard of crossing patterns of junk. It's a useful ability considering that junk droppers are one of the most used dropped weapons in division-5. However, because of the tires, the Exception is a rather austere design. It apparently served the duelist well, but according to dueling legend he met an ironic end. It seemed that the duelist was involved in a collision with a 10-wheel dump truck on the way to the arena. The truck was carrying a 4,000 pound load of junk, roughly a month's supply for an arena. Rescue crews found the car covered in junk which in turn was covered by the imposing bulk of the truck.

Lil' Devil
Subcompact, light chassis, improved suspension, 50 cid gas engine, 4 gallon HD gas tank, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/AP ammo front, 3 linked incendiary LRs left and right. Armor: F20, L15, R15, B15, T6, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 60, HC 3; 2,067 lbs., $4,967.
This was a pet project of the Pantheon Motor's engineer who designed the Lucifer. Just like its larger brother, the Lil' Devil has a potent double broadside of incendiary rockets.

Three by Three
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG w/12 rounds incendiary ammo front w/bumper trigger, 3 linked incendiary MNRs front w/bumper trigger, bumper spikes front, 3 linked incendiary MNRs on mini-rocket platform. Armor: F18, L12, R12, B15, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,520 lbs., $4,855.
Incendiary mini-rockets should be considered dueling's equivalent of hen's teeth. Colorado duelist Sybil Kramer, owner, said that the combination of weapons suited her style of arena fighting. Several defeated duelists agree with that claim.

Kaboomite
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, improved suspension, small power plant w/SC, 4 HD tires, driver, MML front linked to SD rear, HR on REWP left linked to HR on REWP right. Armor: F14, L11, R11, B12, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 80, HC 3; 2,640 lbs., $4,916.
A pair of heavy rockets offer a nasty opening punch while the spike dropper deters pursuers from following too closely. Built and owned by Arizona duelist Milo ‘Kaboomite’ Sellers, this vehicle has chalked up quite a number of kills, both in and out of the arena.

String Bag
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked incendiary HRs w/bumper trigger front, OJ rear, 6 unlinked MNRs on small rocket platform, bumper spikes front. Armor: F16, L12, R12, B14, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 107.5, HC 3; 3,307 lbs., $4,991.
Hailing from the shores of England comes this car designed, built, and used by duelist Thomas Carpenter. With its assortment of weapons fit for the insides of the legendary string bag of fame, this team support vehicle has won its share of victories in the arena.

The Scream
Subcompact, heavy chassis, standard suspension, small power plant, 4 standard tires, driver, light sonic cannon front, 5 points CA for driver. Armor: F8, L5, R5, B5, T2, U2. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 2,375 lbs., $4,997.
The Scream has the distinction of carrying the most expensive weapon for a division-5 car. It was constructed and driven by Floyd Parker of Massachusetts. Staying within 60 feet of his target so that the light sonic cannon did double damage, Floyd scored several kills. He abandoned this design after several duelists realized just how weak the Scream's armor was and gunned for it.

Odd Duck
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MFR front w/bumper trigger, OJ rear, bumper spikes front, small rocket platform with incendiary HR and AP MR. Armor: F18, L13, R13, B13, T5, U7. Accel. 5, top speed 107.5, HC 3; 3,279 lbs., $4,992.
Spike Change option - OJ to SD w/5 rounds left linked to SD w/5 rounds right. Top speed 105; 3,304 lbs., $4,942.
Another odd design that proves that any combination of weapons in division-5 can be useful. It belongs to a dueling team known as the Steely Spikes, named so for the team's use of bumper spikes. Built and driven by Lucy Poppleton of North Carolina, the Odd Duck has downed a number of foes with its rockets, oil, and spikes.

Mark's Car
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MFR front w/bumper trigger, LFT w/9 rounds HT fuel left, SD rear, bumper spikes front. Armor: F15, L18, R13, B15, T4, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 107.5, HC 3; 3,276 lbs., $4,985.
Teammate of Lucy Poppleton, Mark Freeman has this vehicle named after him. It has a potent punch of rockets, flame, and spikes.

Squeezed Penny
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG w/10 rounds incendiary ammo front, 6 linked MNRs front w/bumper trigger, bumper spikes front, 2 points CA for driver. Sloped armor: F15, L12, R12, B13, T4, U4. Accel. 5, tops speed 90, HC 3; 2,753 lbs., $4,863.
Another Steely Spikes vehicle. This one was built and crewed by Josh Tyler.

Bar-B-Que Bob
Compact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MFR front w/bumper trigger, 2 linked LFTs right, bumper spikes front. Armor: F14, L12, R17, B14, T4, U5 with 2 3-point wheelguards and 2 3-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 102.5, HC 3; 3,494 lbs., $4,993.
This is the vehicle of the Steely Spikes dueling team's captain, Bob Gordon.

Hole in the Pocket
Compact, standard chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, bumper spikes front, 2 linked incendiary HRs on small rocket platform, JD left linked to JD right, SD rear linked to JDs. Ten points of CA for the driver. Armor: F14, L16, R16, B18, T5, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 100, HC 3; 3,555 lbs., $4,990.
The final vehicle of the Steely Spikes dueling team. Driven by Jenny Kessler, the Hole in the Pocket got its name for the junk droppers it carries. This is the team's designated dropped weapons vehicle.

Oil Standard
Station Wagon, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, HDOJ left linked to HDOJ right, ten points of CA each for driver and power plant. Armor: F9, L10, R10, B9, T1, U1. Accel. 5, top speed 100/90 if carrying cargo, HC 1; 3,590 lbs., $4,990. Cargo capacity - 7 spaces, 610 lbs.
This hen's tooth was built by a dueling team in North Dakota called the Casual Crunch Bunch. When it's not laying down swaths of oil it could be seen tooling around the streets of Bismark, carrying groceries or bringing back supplies from the lumber store.

Hallway Hauler
Subcompact, heavy chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 10 points of CA for driver, light car trailer hitch, 10 points of hitch armor. Armor: F12, L12, R12, B12, T5, U7. Hitch DP: 1. Accel. 10/5 if towing, top speed 132.5/90 full load, HC 3; 2,400 lbs., $3,310. Towing capacity 1,800 lbs.
Perhaps the weirdest vehicle to see arena combat, aside from a Zipper, is this one. The driver, one Hank Keebler, was towing a mini-van trailer equipped with a junk dropper. He was delivering junk loads to the Bridge Arena pits when he made the literal wrong turn and ended up in the arena during combat. Not only did he survive, but Keebler managed to score a kill thanks to his trail of junk. Since then he joined a local division-5 dueling team, using his subcompact on occasion in both combat and defensive roles.

Hallway Hauler Trailers
Mini-van car trailer, heavy chassis, 2 HD cycle tires. Armor: F4, L11, R11, B10, T4, U6. Tongue DP: 1. 670 lbs., $914. Cargo capacity - 3 spaces, 320 lbs.
Rocket Version - Add 3 linked HRs (left, right, or rear). 970 lbs., $1,614.
Junk Version - Add JD rear w/2 magazines (last magazine has only 6 rounds). 985 lbs., $1,064.
Other weapon combinations are possible. $775 max, 320 lbs max, and 3 spaces max.

Another example of a Mitsui Shuriken that has been converted for division-5 dueling. In 2045 duelist 'Uncle' Floyd Miller bought a used Shuriken from a Chicago taxi company and applied his modifications. Now in semi-retirement, Uncle Floyd travels across the country, dueling only in division-5 charity events. His skills more than compensate for the vehicle's inherent shortcomings, so don't let the sight of his vehicle fool you.
Floyd's known skills include Driver+3, Gunner+3, Handgunner+1, Running+2 and Martial Arts+1. The only piece of personal equipment Floyd uses in his duels is a hatchet. In a few instances he used that hatchet to eliminate immoblized vehicles of opponents that refused to surrender. Remember, a hatchet does full damage to vehicles! :)

Wired Wizard
Subcompact, heavy chassis, standard suspension, small power plant, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, MML front, WGM front. Armor: F17, L14, R14, B14, T4, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 2,395 lbs., $4,948.
Gerald Jackson, a successful nickel duelist in Florida, had this vehicle built specifically for 'king-of-the-hill' events. In some instances, when the height of the hill and range to the nearest opponent was just right, Gerald scored roof hits with his wire-guided missile.

Sideshow
Station Wagon, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, 4 MRs left (one link), 4 MRs right (one link). Armor: F9, L11, R11, B9, T4, U5 with 2 1-point wheelguards and 2 1-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 97.5/90 full load, HC 2; 3,736 lbs., $4,980. Cargo capacity - 7 spaces, 464 lbs.
Built by the Arizona dueling team called the Grand Cannoneers, the Sideshow can deliver two armor-busting broadsides. Its main advantage over other rocket-armed designs is that it carries its weapons internally, protecting them from flame clouds and other weapons.

Carnage Cart
Compact, light chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, SD w/5 rounds rear linked to RL, 2 points CA for driver. Sloped armor: F15, L11, R11, B13, T3, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 3; 2,760 lbs., $4,605.
Some people think that the designer and driver, Michigan duelist Alison Keats, was being presumptuous by naming her car Carnage Cart. With sloped armor, a heavy weapon, and some money left over to change the type of spikes, this dueling car has the potential to live up to its name.

Possum Knavel’s Van
Van, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, gunner, POG front w/ice ammo, JD w/5 rounds of ammo left and right, MFR rear. 10 points of component armor each for crew, power plant, POG, JDs, and MFR. Two fake wheelguards rear. Sloped armor: F1, L1, R1, B1, T0, U0. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 0; 4,138 lbs., $4,936. Cargo capacity: 5 spaces, 62 lbs.
A rare example of a division-5 van. Exhaustive use of component armor enables the van to participate in combat. The only reason this vehicle has sloped armor at all is to make enemy gunners work for their firing solutions. Depending on the situation, Knavel often uses the spare weight to add an additional three rounds to each junk dropper and link them.

The Devil’s Platform
Van, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant w/SC, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, gunner, large rocket platform w/3 HRs (one link). JD left linked to JD right, JD rear linked to side JDs. 10 points of component armor each for crew and power plant. 8 points of component armor for each JD. Sloped armor: F6, L6, R6, B5, T1, U1. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 0; 4,613 lbs., $4,995. Cargo capacity: 5 + 5 spaces, 7 lbs.
The Prairie Pirates, a Wyoming division-5 team, is currently the only know team using a custom van equipped with a large rocket platform. Used primarily to place junk patterns on the arena floor, the Devil’s Platform can deliver a knock-out blow to anyone that comes within range of its rockets. Like the Possum Knavel van, component armor enhances the survival chances for this vehicle.

Squib
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, MML front linked to MD rear. Sloped armor: F18, L13, R13, B13, T5, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 2; 3,063 lbs., $4,993.
Olsen Curren of Oregon, part-time stuntman and professional division-5 duelist, was given a dueling vehicle for his work in the latest McDade film.  Like most nickel cars, care must be taken when using the mines; more often than not a mine pattern explosion can take out both the pursuer and the pursued.

Kaleidoscope
Subcompact, heavy chassis, standard suspension, small power plant, 4 FP SB Standard tires, driver, MG front. LRFP sloped armor: F17, L12, R12, B12, T5, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 2; 2,382 lbs., $4,986.
A vehicle so named due to the gaudy appearance of its armor, the Kaleidoscope belongs to Michigan duelist Wilma Hastings. Particularly wealthy for a pro division-5 duelist, Wilma built this car expressly for the 2051 Michigan state dueling championship. One of the participants drove a stock Ember. The Kaleidoscope’s laser-reflective armor reduced the effectiveness of the Ember’s light laser, however Wilma came in second place to a duelist driving an Indra Oil River.

Grab Bag
Sedan, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 SB Standard tires, driver, MML front, HR left and right, JD w/magazine rear, MR rear. 10 points of CA each for driver, MML, and both HRs. Bumper spikes front. Armor: F19, L11, R11, B14, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 1; 4,039 lbs., $4,988.
Sedans in division-5 dueling are rare. This one, owned and driven by Bill Lincoln of Missouri, was built piece-meal over a period of three years.

Punishment Vehicles

Below is a set of vehicles that, by any appreciative standard, should not be in an arena. Nevertheless, they exist and serve a useful purpose. For duelists that want to clear a blot on their record or simply not pay a huge fee for misconduct have the option of participating in a regular division-5 combat in one of these vehicles. In other cases, convicts can have prison terms shorten by dueling or participating in 'ped verses vehicle' combats.
Depending on the generosity of the other duelists, the drivers of these punishment vehicles may expect only to have his vehicle disabled and left alone. For others, it has been know that particularly hated punishment drivers were not given the opportunity to surrender. In some cases other duelists have gone out of their way to show their scorn. Dumping loads of flaming oil or firing weapons into an otherwise clearly destroyed punishment car have been know to happen.
No standardized body style is associated with these vehicles, for they're built by local shops near the arenas they service. Often these vehicles have some cargo capacity, giving them some utility to arena workers during those times when the arena is being serviced.
No subcompact has been designed specifically for the punishment role. The Zipper (spoiler variant), due to its carbon-aluminum frame, is most often used, followed by stock Threshers (from VG1). Killer Kart '46s, built in local shops with standard suspensions, are also used as well.

Masochist
Compact, light chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, HR in turret, 2-space rocket magazine w/HRs, JD rear. Armor: F15, L15, R15, B15, T6, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 105, HC 2; 3,329 lbs., $4,767.
LMG version - remove HRs, HR magazines, 3 points of armor, suspension to light. Add LMG to turret, add JD left linked to rear JD. Two points CA for driver. Top speed 107.5, HC 1; 3,264 lbs., $4,998.
This vehicle was not at all intended for use in an arena. It was built on a bet between two pit crewmen that a turret-equipped vehicle couldn't work in a division-5 event. The resulting combat proved that only if the other duelists fell on their swords would a Masochist driver win. Normally this would have been the last word on the subject, but other arenas heard about the duel. Like the Zipper design listed below, the Masochist and its light machine gun variant have found a niche. Duelists that have been banned or severely penalized could have their records expunge by participating in a duel driving a Masochist. But unlike the Zipper, in which the drive merely had to survive the event, a Masochist duelist had to come in first place. To date there's no record of Masochist duelist placing higher than fourth in a duel. Far more often the duelist became an arena casualty than a survivor.
No companies build the Masochist. Instead the vehicle is made by using discarded compact bodies that have the required chassis and suspension modifications. A compact with a light chassis and improved suspension isn't hard to come by, but for the LMG-armed Masochist a compact with a light (standard) suspension is needed. Usually this turns out to be the hulks of Wrath of Cannons, Sprockets, and Rocket Wonders.

Fnord Motors Protection Racket (modified)
Mid-size, light chassis, standard suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, JD rear, 10 points of component armor each for driver, power plant, RL, and JD. Armor: F17, L17, R17, B17, T5, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 95, HC 1; 3,797 lbs., $4,994.
This version of the Protection Racket is well armored for a punishment vehicle. Only the Death Wagon has more overall protection.

Rocket Jock
Sedan, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, JD rear, 10 points of component each for driver, power plant, and RL. Three points of CA for JD. Armor: F14, L14, R14, B14, T6, U6. Accel. 5, top speed 95/90 full load, HC 1; 3,863 lbs., $4,999. Cargo capacity - 3 spaces, 337 lbs.
With a rocket launcher installed the Rocket Jock can inflict some appreciable damage before ending up as a large arena obstacle.

Mitsui Shuriken (modified)
Luxury, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MML w/AP ammo front, JD rear, fire extinguisher, 10 points of component armor each for driver, power plant, MML, and JD. Armor: F13, L12, R12, B13, T2, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5/90 full load, HC 1; 3,940 lbs., $4,990. Cargo capacity - 6 spaces, 260 lbs.
Twenty-three years after its introduction in this country there are still some Shurikens running around. In the guise of a punishment vehicle, the Shuriken underwent a major change. The large power plant was exchanged for a medium, simplifying maintenance. Component armor increased the protection level by 72%, and the armor value is only 5% less than that of the original. The fire extinguisher was kept, making this vehicle unique amongst division-5 cars.

Death Wagon
Station Wagon, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, LMG front, JD left linked to JD right, 10 points of CA each for power plant, driver, LMG and both JDs. Armor: F13, L12, R12, B13, T2, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5/90 full load, HC 1; 3,940 lbs., $4,990. Cargo capacity - 7 spaces, 260 lbs.
Despite the name, the Death Wagon has the most armor protection amongst the punishment vehicles. It'll need that armor when its tires are gone and becomes a lump of plastic for the other duelists to shoot at their leisure.

DLAR (Dead Like A Rock)
Pickup, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, gunner, 2 linked LRs front, JD left linked to JD right, 10 points of component armor each for crew and power plant, car blades. Armor: F8, L6, R6, B8, T2, U2. Accel. 5, top speed 95/90 fully loaded, HC 1; 4,105 lbs., $3,840. Cargo capacity - 11 spaces, 305 lbs.
The DLAR is used exclusively in 'vehicles-vs-peds' combats. It can carry two 'passengers' in the pickup bed firing handweapons. When the opportunity presents itself, the DLAR can use its car blades to cut down pedestrians. The light rockets are mainly there as a morale boost for the vehicular crew.

Kasual Karma
Camper, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, pair of linked AP MRs front w/one point of CA, pair of linked AP MRs rear w/one point of CA, 10 points of CA each for driver and power plant. Armor: F9, L10, R10, B9, T1, U1. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 1; 4,198 lbs., $4,980.
Driving this vehicle in a duel must mean you're atoning for bad actions in a previous life. The best thing you can wish for is that you don't die in a roll caused by a blown maneuver.

Rolling Coffin
Van, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 standard tires, driver, MML front, JD left linked to JD right, 10 points of CA each for driver, power plant, and MML. 3 points of CA for each JD. Armor: F12, L12, R12, B12, T1, U1. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 0; 4,197 lbs., $4,980.
An aptly named vehicle. With the worst handling of any division-5 vehicle the Rolling Coffin risks rolling over even at the starting gate. In a duel it is more likely that the driver would take himself out by skidding sideways into a wall. If you have the misfortune of driving this vehicle try avoiding the attention of the other duelists as long as possible.

Vehicle Guide 1 updates

Kane Motors Sargasso
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 PR tires, driver, MG front. Armor: F15, L8, R8, B10, T8, U7. Accel 10, top speed 127.5, HC 4; 2,530 lbs., $4,816.
2052 option - remove two points of armor. Add platinum catalysts to power plant. Top speed 132.5; 2520 lbs., $4,994.
Good tires and acceleration are this vehicle's strong points. The only change you can make to it is moving some of the top and bottom armor to the other four sides. The XH version has an x-heavy chassis and 46 more points of armor. Top speed 120. 2,760 lbs., $5,472.

Amex Combat Autoworks Iguana I
Subcompact, standard chassis, improved suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked MGs front. Armor: F5, L3, R3, B5, T1, U1. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 3; 2,300 lbs., $4,748.
2036 update - chassis to heavy. Add nine points of armor. Top speed 90; 2,345 lbs., $4,997.
Iguana II - replace MGs with RR and add targeting computer. Armor: F7, L5, R5, B7, T2, U2. $4,658.
2038 update - chassis to heavy. Targeting computer to single weapon computer. Add 20 points of armor. Top speed 90; 2,400 lbs., $4,528.
The Iguana had the firepower to make it dangerous in division-5 back in 2034. By 2039, however, it was little better than a Killer Kart. The 2036 update wasn't enough to keep it competitive, and in 2040 the Iguana I was replaced by the Amex LMG GL.
As its namesake above, the Iguana II had the better gun and even a targeting bonus. Thanks to some technological innovations it was able to remain competitive longer. Eventually, though, it was replaced by the Iguana III.

Ital Works Bee (based on same bodystyle as the Laser Factory Yellowjacket)
(original specs) - Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MG front, roll cage. Armor: F5, L4, R4, B5, T0, U0. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 4; 2,250 lbs., $4,398. * reflects revised roll cage weight.
(Update) - Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant w/PC, 4 HD tires, driver, MG front, roll cage. Armor: F16, L13, R13, B13, T4, U4. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,475 lbs., $4,993.
The biggest change was the revised roll cage rules, which left surplus weight in this design. With platinum catalysts added to the power plant the Bee got as much armor it could get while staying within the division-5 price limit.

Atlantic Industries Thresher
Subcompact, standard chassis, light suspension, small power plant, 4 standard tires, driver, RL front. Armor: F12, L10, R10, B8, T8, U8. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 2; 2,300 lbs., $2,966.
Six Shooter version - Replace RL with MFR. Top speed 95; 2,200 lbs., $2,066.
Like the Volkswagon Bug of lore, the two-decades old Thresher is still being built in limited numbers today. Customizers typically make the armor and tires fireproof and add a single weapon computer ($1,316). Throw in high torque motors ($400) and convert the RL rounds to AP (+$175) and you'll have a potent vehicle in your hands. Most often some top and bottom armor is moved to the other armor locations.
The Six Shooter version of this vehicle, not the Popcorn Shrimp in VG2, was the first vehicle registered that weighs more than its cost. Owners of this version typically retrofit the vehicle like the standard Thresher, but often add an AP MR-equipped mini-rocket platform ($285, 100 lbs.).

Amex Combat Autoworks Sizzler
Mid-size, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, FT left and right, SD rear. Armor: F15, L12, R12, B14, T6, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 1; 4,197 lbs., $4,704.
Sizzler HR - as above, but replace the SD with a HR front. Upgrade tires to PR. Armor: F14, L8, R8, B14, T6, U6. 4,198 lbs., $4,876.
A link from each FT to the SD ($100) is the most common upgrade for the standard Sizzler. Both versions made use of component armor when it became available. Remove four points of armor (-$64 and -32 lbs.) and add four points of component armor for each FT (+$80 and +32 lbs.). Because of these updates the Sizzler can still be seen the arena from time to time.

Combat Showcase updates

Excalibur Spitfire
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RL w/9 incendiary rounds front. Armor: F12, L10, R10, B10, T8, U8. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4: 2,399 lbs., $3,978.
Common upgrade - add platinum catalysts to power plant and final incendiary RL round. Add spoiler and tires to PR. HC 4/5@60+; 2,500 lbs., $4,813.
After 15 years the original Spitfire can still compete well in division-5. Many owners upgraded the power plants with platinum catalysts so that maximum use of the heavy chassis could be made.

Conquistador Gladiator
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MD w/radio & pressure trigger mines rear. Armor: F20(ram), L7, R7, B7, T3, U8 with 2 5-point wheelguards and 2 5-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,400 lbs., $4,402. * -$50 due to wheelhub cost going from $15/point to $10/point.
Armor version - add PC to power plant. Add 21 points of non-front armor. 2,505 lbs., $4,733.
    HTM version - add PC to power plant and high torque motors. Armor: F20(ram), L10, R10, B10, T4, U6. Accel. 5/10 w/HTMs, top speed 90/67.5 w/HTMs; 2,440 lbs., $4,990.
This vehicle was risky to drive due to the weak side armor. Upgraded power plants solved this, the first being the armor version. High torque motors created the second variant. Moving quicker is just as valuable as having more armor.

Indra Motors Needle
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked FGs front (each w/10 rounds of ammo). Armor: F11, L10, R10, B10, T4, U7 with 2 5-point wheelguards and 2 5-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,400 lbs., $4,222. * -$50 due to wheelhub cost going from $15/point to $10/point.
Maneuver variant - add PC to power plant. Add spoiler and airdam. HC 4/5@60+; 2,500 lbs., $4,872.
A single weapon computer is still the best buy for this vehicle. For those that want to perform hard maneuvers go with the maneuver variant.

Indra Motors Firecracker
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, heavy suspension, medium power plant, 4 PR tires, driver, SD w/explosive loads rear. Armor: F30(ramplate), L17, R17, B16, T5, U10. Accel. 10, top speed 122.5, HC 4; 2,675 lbs, $4,990.
Nothing to improve on this vehicle. Strong ramplate, acceleration, heavy armor, and thick tires allow the Firecracker to stay in the heat of battle.

Vehicle Guide 2 updates

Atlantic Motors Shrimp
Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 standard tires, driver, passenger, MML front. Armor: F15, L15, R15, B15, T1, U10. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,400 lbs., $3,331.
Popcorn Shrimp - downgrade chassis to standard and suspension to light. Replace MML with JD rear. Remove all but 25 points of armor. Top speed 95, HC 2; 2,170 lbs., $1,325.
The low price of this vehicle leaves many options for upgrades. Typically the passenger is armed with handweapons capable of damaging vehicles, like anti-vehicular rifles and gyrosluggers. Grenade launchers are also popular.

Vehicle Guide 3 updates

Wow! Of the six division 5 car designs in this tome, only the Platypus was designed and priced legally. Below are updated designs of the vehicles in question.

Revised Sabre Motors Omega-5
Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, improved suspension, medium power plant, 4 PR tires, driver, spoiler. Sloped armor: F30(ram), L20, R20, B20, T5, U6 with 2 5-point wheelguards and 2 5-point wheelhubs. Accel. 10, top speed 120, HC 3/4@60+; 2,760 lbs., $4,942.
The correct price of this vehicle is $5,071 ($4,926) and weighs 2,720 lbs (2,760). The driver's body armor was removed and the vehicular armor adjusted. This design has been crafted to the original as close as possible. However, it's actually more efficient, both in price and weight, for the Omega-5 to have a heavy suspension instead of a spoiler and improved suspension. Handling class will automatically be at 4, plus you'll save $125 and 50 pounds. With that savings increase the ramplate to 36 points, making it one of the strongest subcompact ram car in division-5. End figures are 2,755 lbs., $4,999.

Revised Platypus
Compact, standard chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MFR front, SD left linked to SD right, 2 linked LRs on mini rocket platform, body armor for driver. Armor: F25, L17, R17, B19, T6, U6 with 2 10-point wheelguards and 2 10-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 102.5, HC 1; 3,420 lbs., $4,995. Weight includes driver's body armor (for those that use the alternate encumbrance rules).
The only thing that could be improved was replacing the MFR's blow-through concealment for a pair of weapon links. Really, given the body style and reputation of this vehicle, what's the use of hiding your most effective weapon anyway? If you do want blow-through concealment for the MFR (and change the MFR's location), then change the linked LRs to a single MR and remove three points of armor. The new stats are 3,412 lbs. and $4,996.

Revised Rock Lobster
Subcompact, standard chassis, improved suspension, 50 cid gas engine w/tubular headers, 4 gallon economy gas tank, 4 HD tires, driver, LR left and right, GL front w/10 explosive grenades, 10 points CA for driver. Armor: F20, L14, R14, B19, T3, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 60, HC 3; 2,193 lbs., $4,993.
The original's price ($4,966) was really $105 too high ($5,071) and at 2,173 lbs was 74 lbs too heavy as listed in VG3 . There was a leftover space as well. Again, the body armor was removed and component armor installed for the driver. At $100 and 40 lbs it was a bargain and a great improvement over regular body armor. The engine was upgrade to handle the extra weight. A full grenade launcher, removing the LR link and bumper tirgger, and even adding two more points of armor completed the update. Aside from the low speed imposed by the gas engine and lack of grenade variety the Rock Lobster is a good fire-support vehicle for team dueling.

Revised Sprocket
Compact, light chassis, light suspension, medium power plant, 4 standard tires, driver, VMG front, 5 points CA for driver. Sloped armor: F13, L10, R10, B11, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 112.5, HC 1; 3,040 lbs., $4,985.
This was way off division-5, $5,642 to $4,994. Weight was better, 3,178 lbs to 3,118 lbs. Tires were chopped down to standard from heavy-duty. Vehicular armor was also cut so that it could make the division-5 limit. Body armor was exchanged for component armor. With its poor handling and standard tires the Sprocket had better hit its opponents early and often.

Revised Sabre Motors Lo-Beam
Subcompact, standard chassis, light suspension, small power plant, 4 standard tires, driver, LL front. Sloped armor: F19, L13, R13, B15, T3, U3. Accel. 5, top speed 92.5, HC 2; 2,300 lbs., $4,799.
Not as bad as the others, but $5,295 adjusted from $4,994 listed is still gross. Weight was merely off 10 lbs., upwards from 2,340. Body armor was chopped as well as downgrading the chassis to standard. Eight points of armor brings this bad boy down to 2,300. Like the Ember-5, the Lo-Beam uses a light laser and sloped armor. The one disadvantage is the use of standard tires, making it more vulnerable to opportunistic grenade explosions.

Revised Zipper
Subcompact w/CA frame, standard chassis, light suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MG front, 2 fake MGs rear, body armor for driver. Sloped armor: F20, L13, R13, B16, T3, U5 with 2 5-point wheelguards and 2 5-point wheelhubs. Accel. 5, top speed 102.5, HC 2; 1,970 lbs., $4,997. Weight includes driver's body armor (for those that use the alternate encumbrance rules).
Finally, the last one. $5,203 adjusted compared to $4,987 original, but only 5 lbs more than 2,050 as listed. 17 points of armor were removed, but the driver keeps the body armor.
A division-5 subcompact with a CA frame? As shown here, it's quite possible, but why bother? The armor values are comparable to other subcompacts, plus there's the additional damage the vehicle would take in any roll, collision, and ram. I can only think of one good use for this vehicle. A banned duelist could take this vehicle into a regular division 5 duel. If he survives, he's reinstated. The emphasis is on the 'if'. With all the other duelists knowing that a Zipper is in the arena, you can bet the duelist seeking redemption will get a lot of 'welcome rubs' and 'friendly bumps'.
Given the low weight of the vehicle, there's one possible variant of the Zipper - a light chassis. You'll save $240. Removing the fake weapons will free up another $100 and 20 lbs. Getting a spoiler for better high-speed handling is a good thing, since upgrading to an improved suspension will move this vehicle out of division-5. Using both suggestions, you'll have a new cost of $4,932 and weight of 2,000 lbs. even.

ADQ

ADQ 4-4
Atlantic Industries Starhawk: Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, RL front, 2 linked LRs on mini rocket platform, targeting laser front, laser guidance link for all rockets, targeting computer.     Heavy armor allows the Cleaver to stay close while dousing its foes with flame. The tires are unprotected, making them inviting targets at close range as well.

ADQ 8-3
Nakachi Motors Corporation Pocket Rocket: Subcompact, x-heavy chassis, light suspension, small power plant w/PC & SC, 4 HD tires, driver, RL w/AP ammo front, SWC. Armor: F24, L22, R22, B22, T5, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 95, HC 2; 2,560 lbs., $4,975. * was listed as weighing 2,760 lbs.
Pocket Rocket Lite version  - remove 6 points of armor. Chassis to heavy. 2,530 lbs., $4,759.
Heavy armor and AP rockets make for a tough opponent. Handling is low for this subcompact, so it's suggested to outmaneuver the Pocket Rocket into the asphalt.

Practically all duelists today have, at one point in their careers, driven a Killer Kart in an amateur night duel or in a practice session. World-wide, at least 50,000 examples have been built since its debut in 2027. Maneuverable, speedy, and relatively cheap, the Kart was the number one choice for amateur night dueling. For some talented duelists, this vehicle also served in the frenzy environment of division-5 dueling. Practically all combat automotive companies have built Killer Karts, supplying arenas with their need for this vehicle. Due to its simple design and construction, it’s not uncommon to find an amateur night Kart that has been totally rebuilt at least five times.
Eventually the Killer Kart fell in disfavor in the mid ‘40s, owing in part to audiences wanting to have amateur night duels last longer. A replacement, the Killer Kart ‘46, was produced. Arenas continued to use the original Karts for a few years afterward. A modified souped-up speed version was used on dueltracks for amateur night and exhibition events. Some arenas, facing a surplus of original Karts,  modified them to be more ‘survivable’ and to provide for more protracted dueling.
Hundreds of Karts ended up in the hands of duelists, either for their collections or for dueling, albeit after making modifications. The most notable of these modifications was the one made by the King Kart dueling team of Indiana. Called the 2051 HTM, this Killer Kart variant made use of high torque motors in place of the acceleration provided by a medium power plant. It also has heavy-duty brakes, a rarity in division-5 cars.

Stinger: Subcompact, heavy chassis, heavy suspension, small power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, 2 linked MGs front. Armor: F10, L5, R5, B8, T5, U5. Accel. 5, top speed 90, HC 4; 2,400 lbs., $5,268.
Option 1 - Replace MGs and link with RR, add 10 points of armor. $4,178.
Option 2 - Replace one MG and link with HR front, add 20 points of armor. $4,138.
Option 3 - Replace MGs and link with RL, add 30 points of armor. $3,898.
Option 4 - Replace one MG with smokescreen or spikedropper (linked to remaining MG), add 25 points of armor. $4,393 with smokescreen, $4,343 with spikedropper.
2048 HMG refit - Replace MGs and link with HMG, add 10 points component armor for driver, smoke discharger left and right. $4,918.
Like its cousin the Killer Kart, the Stinger had two decades of service. In both division-10 and division-5 amateur night dueling the Stinger was a common sight. Exhibition and charity events using Stingers were common also. Several early dueling teams were comprised solely of Stingers and Stinger variants.
However, just like the original Killer Kart, a new version of the Stinger was produced to suit the changing needs of arena dueling. The basic version of the ‘48 Stinger could serve in a division-5 duel, but its variants are well at home in division-10 amateur night fights. Some arenas, seeking to keep some diversity in amateur night duels, refitted their remaining stock of original Stingers with heavy machine guns and component armor for the driver.

Mitsui Shuriken
Luxury, light chassis, light suspension, large power plant, 4 HD tires, driver, MG front, fire extinguisher. Armor: F10, L10, R10, B10, T10, U10. Accel. 10/5 w/40 or more lbs. of cargo, top speed 120/102.5 full load, HC 1; 3,960 lbs., $6,040. Cargo capacity - 10 spaces, 990 lbs.
Common Division-5 variant - Remove ten points of armor, tires to SB Standard, power plant to medium. Add JD rear. Add ten points of CA for driver, three points CA for power plant, three points CA for MG, and three points CA for JD. Accel. 5, top speed 95/90 full load. 3,887 lbs., $4,995.  Cargo capacity - 6 spaces, 313 lbs.
Assassin variant - Remove ten points of armor, remove MG, tires to SB Standard, power plant to medium. Add seven points of CA each for power plant and driver. Add five MRs left and right (each group with one link). Accel. 5, top speed 90; 4,078 lbs., $4,985.
As a taxi or courier in a safe area, the Mitsui Shuriken proved useful, and can still be found on the streets of 2052 North America. In combat, all that it could do was take a round meant for a more important vehicle. Still, an inventive duelist could make a Shuriken into something that could fight like a dueling car. Several division-10 and 15 designs were realized on modified Shuriken bodies. For division-5 it was no different. The duelist known as Uncle Floyd used a modified Shuriken, and several duelists have followed in his footsteps. The low handling is the most important handicap for this car. “A Shuriken Spinout” is a term used by division-5 duelists to describe a spectacular loss of vehicular control due to an otherwise minor hazard. Early, aggressive Shuriken duelists made possible for this term to be created. Usually the fire extinguisher is kept, making it one of the few division-5 vehicles to be so equipped.
Basically the power plant is downgraded to medium and sometimes the machine gun is replaced by light one or even a micro-missile launcher. The Common variant is most often seen, followed by the Assassin. Armed with two rocket salvos that can kill an opponent, an Assassin driver first has to make sure his own driving doesn’t kill him instead.

* Final Note: All weapon links, especially those on rocket-armed cars, have the maximum number applied. If your style is to fire rockets from one side all at once, then remove the appropriate number of links.
