Death Duel Arena
by Richard Solomon Abilene, Texas The Death Duel Arena lives up to it's name with most duels ending with one survivor. It's presently under the AADA watch for bad management. Built in 2045 by ConTexCo, unfortunately done by the highway department. The nearby prison provided the workforce. The Death Duel is open year around with a regular season from March to October with car, trike and cycle events. It's part of the Shooting Star circuit. Arena Features: The arena floor is paved with 25 foot high outer walls with 75 DP and eight 15 foot high gates (two per side) with 10 DP, which will open when rammed. There are four defense towers in the corners, which are 50 foot high with 75 DP and universally turreted RRs. Oil pumps out of the corners where there are defense towers. The floor is angled at 15 degrees towards the central fire pit which is 7 feet deep. The oil will flow one inch per turn and fill up the fire pit a quarter inch per turn, when the pit is full it will ignite. Grandstands hold 10,000 fans. Arena Schedule: Monday: Amateur night Tuesday: Closed Wednesday: Practice sessions Thursday: Team night Friday: Challenge night Saturday: AADA Divisionals Sunday: Special Events Special Events: Life: Prisoners get a chance at freedom, if they win the duel. They are provided with Division 5 or 10 cars, cycles or trikes. The winner gets their freedom. Don't : An unlimited duel , but anyone exiting their vehicles will be shot at by the arena defenses. Double prestige. Hostage: There are 10 hostages tied up in the fire pit, the duelist must rescue the hostages before the pit ignites. The duelist who gets the hostage out of the arena wins.
